Advent day 21

Kerstlied van vandaag: Driving home for Christmas - Chris Reyour

Regularly I get asked: you do have a lot of tea calendars this year, do you drink them all myself? My answer is at the end of this post.

Today in the (German) advent calendar book by Martina Behm another pattern.

Deel 9 van de Yuletide sokken. Dit patroontje heet Advent Candle.

Part 9 of the Yuletide socks. This pattern is called Advent Candle.

Now why I have so much tea this year. Last year I missed out on the 3 boxes I bought at the DM in Germany, the calendar from DM itself, the one from the Cupper (Clipper) and Yogi Tea. Now I was there on time and so took all three with me (I even took 2 of the Yogi tea). These calendars only contain herbal teas and I love that very much. In previous years I often had the loose tea calendars and there were really a lot of them that I didn't like.

I also have a two-person tea calendar every year, which Michiel and I drink together in the evening, I went for the Frog.Coffee calendar this year. We (Michiel and I) also really like the German brands of tea, such as Teekanne and Meßmer and this calendar contains around 8 different German brands of tea. Each brand has then put 3 types of their tea in it. So far we like it very much and every tea has been delicious. I will definitely buy this again next year, just like the 3 from DM and yes .... I drink all the tea myself daily (except for the two-person one, which I share with Michiel).

Advent day 20

Kerstlied van vandaag: All I want for Christmas - Mariah Carey

Last night I finished another book, I think my 50th of this year. Every year I keep a book list that you can find on the right side of my blog. In the first week of the new year I will post a message with an overview in which I show all read books.

If you ask me what are the best books you've read this year, those are the books from the Valerie Lane series by Manuela Inusa. Opinion is divided on this, but I personally finished each book in 2 or 3 evenings and I'm anxiously awaiting volume 5.

Advent day 19

Often there is asked: Do you have a favorite color? I usually ask what it is about, because I have a different favorite color for clothing than for example for the interior in our house. More about this at the end of this post.

Part 9 of the Yuletide socks. This pattern is called Snowed in for Christmas, because it looks like there's a blizzard going on.

As for favorite colors, when it comes to clothing I go for blue first, then green is next and red otherwise.
When I look at my interior I don't really see 1 color, but several colors that come back. It is often the somewhat antique colors such as dark red, gray blue, brown, cream, also the colors that I often use in my quilts.
If I have to make a choice when it comes to knitting yarn, my first choice is often pink.
So you see that you can have more favorite colors.

Advent day 18

Kerstlied van vandaag: My favourite time of year - The Florin street band

Het boek waarover ik het had heet Harry Potter, A Magical Year.

The book I was talking about is called Harry Potter, A Magical Year.

Achterflaptekst:

Back cover text:
"A Magical Year takes readers on an unforgettable journey through the seasons at Hogwarts. Jim Kay's incredible illustrations, paired with much loved quotations from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels, bring to life all of the magic, beauty and wonder of the wizarding world".

"Each day features a favourite anniversary or meaningful memory from the Harry Potter novels. All around, Jim Kay's scenic artwork and decorative painter's marks bring that moment to life in breathtaking detail. His unique interpretation is both captivating and transporting - picture frozen icicles glinting on the snowy towers of Hogwarts, the dancing eyes of Professor Albus Dumbledore, or the infectious hustle and bustle of Diagon Alley".

"Inside, a selection of his most iconic illustrations are joined by previously unseen pencil sketches and preparatory pieces, offering a unique and fascinating insight into the artist's sketchbook".
I already know that I will enjoy this every day from January 1th. The hardcover is published by Bloomsbury.
