Halloween Lamb

Naast het borduren van een kerst of winter thema, vind ik halloween patronen altijd even leuk om te doen. Ik viel dan ook als een blok voor Halloween Lamb van Primitive Acorns (klik). Deze moest gewoon gemaakt worden.

Besides stitching with a Christmas or winter theme, I realy like to stitch halloween patterns. I immediately fell in love with Halloween Lamb from Primitive Acorns (click). I just had to make this one.

Halloween Lamb - Primitive Acorns

Fabric: 32 ct. vintage mocha linen

Threads: DMC (Blanc, 310, 611, 801, 921, 3779)

Op het patroon staan de doodshoofden geborduurd, maar ik had nog te gekke doodshoofd kralen liggen die ik eens van een vriendin uit Amerika heb gekregen. Wie wat bewaard heeft wat ;-)

On the pattern the skulls are stitched, but I still had some awesome skulls beads in my stash. Once giving by a friend living in the USA.  They where perfect !

Laundry Autumn and Give Away winner

Het borduren gaat lekker, ik heb er weer eentje klaar ;-) Deze keer een herfstpatroon van Primitive Acorns (klik) dat Laundry Autumn heet. Op het patroon staan de kleuren in DMC vermeld, maar ik heb gekozen voor het hand geverfde garen van Nina's Threads (klik). De kleuren heb ik onder de foto vermeld.

The cross stitching is going very well, I have one ready again ;-) This time it is a autumn pattern from Primitive Acorns (click) and it is called Laundry Autumn. On the pattern the colors are written in DMC, but I choose for the hand-dyed threads of Nina's Threads (click). The colors are written below the picture.

Meer dan 70 mensen deden mee aan de give away en ik schrijf altijd alle namen op een briefje. Deze geef ik dan een nummer. Of toeval bestaat weet ik niet, maar mijn verbazing was enorm groot toen ik de naam van de winnaar zag ....

More then 70 people entered my give away and I always write down all the names. Each name gets a number.  If coincidence exist I don't know, but when I saw the name of the winner that was a big surprise ....

Waarom ik zo verbaasd was? Omdat het winnende getal achter de naam van Teresa stond en zij is de ontwerpster van Primitive Acorns waar ik net een patroon van geborduurd had. Vandaar dat mijn verbazing groot was. Teresa gefeliciteerd !

Opgelet: mijn volgende give away hou ik begin november, want dan ben ik jarig en dan kies ik niet 1 maar 2 winnaars.

Why I was so surprised? Because the winning number was written behind the name of Teresa and she is the designer of Primitive Acorns from which I just stitched a pattern. That is why I was so surprised.

Lady Sunshine

Het patroon van Teresa van Primitive Acorns (klik) is af. Het heet Lady Sunshine en ik heb het afgewerkt tot een speldenkussen.

The pattern from Teresa from Primitive Acorns (click) is finished. It is called Lady Sunshine and I finished it of as a pincushion.

Fabric: 34 ct. naturel linen

Threads: Nina's Threads (Midnight, Cigar, Pineapple, Chilli, Artichoke, Shadow, Onyx, Blue Mania) and DMC (3774)

De kruissteekjes die het touw rondom het anker moeten voorstellen, heb ik vervangen door een draad perle garen dat ik erop gezet heb met kleine steekjes.

The cross stitches that represent the rope around the anchor, I replace them with a perle thread, that I sewed on with tiny stitches.

Afgewerkt met enkele stofjes en twee parelmoerknoopjes.

I finished it off with a few fabrics and two mother of pearl buttons.

New project

Teresa van Primitive Acorns (klik) vroeg me of ik tijd en zin had om haar nieuwste patroon te borduren. Ik zeg daar geen nee tegen, ik maak gewoon tijd. Ook omdat ik al enige tijd geen borduurnaald meer in mijn handen heb gehad.

Teresa from Primitive Acorns (click) ask me if I had time to stitch her new design. Ofcourse I do, I make time. Also because lately I didn't had a embroidery needle in my hands.

Aangezien ik erg graag borduur met het garen van Nina (klik), heb ik alle kleuren omgezet naar dit handgeverfd garen. Het einde is inmiddels in zicht ;-)

Because I realy like to stitch with the threads of Nina (click), I convert all the colors to these threads. I'm almost done ;-)

Als afsluiting nog een mooi plaatje uit de tuin.

The rabbit and the elderberry

Na de schaapjes is het konijn aan de beurt. Zondagmiddag besteld, zondagavond in de mail (handig die PDF patronen) en meteen geborduurd. Gistermiddag heb ik het afgewerkt tot een speldenkussen.

Het patroon heet The rabbit and the elderberry (het konijn en de vlier) en het is wederom van  Primitive Acorns (klik).

After the sheep it is the rabbit's turn. I ordered it sunday afternoon, sunday evening it was in the mail (handy those PDF patterns) and I immediately began to stitched it. Yesterday afternoon I finished it into a pin cushion.

The pattern is called The rabbit and the elderberry and this one is again from  Primitive Acorns (click).

Ric-rac: Nina´s Threads (color Dried Bark)

 

Ik heb het patroon iets veranderd, het bosje bloemen dat boven het konijn hangt, hoorde eigenlijk rechts langs de vlier geborduurd te worden. Ik besloot om het boven het konijn te maken en ik heb ook het hartje er zelf bij verzonnen. Dit is geborduurd in de Rhodes heart stitch.

I did however change the pattern slightly, the flowers that are above the rabbit should be stitched on the right side of the elderberry. But I decided to stitch it above the rabbit and the heart I made up myself. This is stitched with the Rhodes heart stitch.

Tot slot naaide ik er nog een paar oude parelmoer knoopjes op en een stukje handgeverfd zigzagband van Nina's Threads (klik) in de mooie kleur Dried Bark.

 

As finishing touch I added some old mother of pearl buttons and some hand-dyed ric-rac from Nina's Threads (click) in the beautiful color Dried Bark.

Easter Lamb

Van het ene schaapje uit het vorige bericht, naar een volgend schaapje in dit bericht. Dit patroon heet Easter Lamb en is een ontwerp van Primitive Acorns (klik).

Button: Little pearlized heart 

Ik heb wel een aantal kleuren veranderd, zodat het beter uitkwam op het naturel linnen. Verder heb ik het met 2 soorten stof afgewerkt tot een speldenkussen.

I did change a few colors, so the design looked a bit better on the natural linen. I used 2 kind of fabric to made it into a pincushion.

Bovenaan naaide ik nog een hartje met een parelmoer uitstraling.

In the right upper corner  I sewed a little pearlized heart button.

Gisteren sprong ik een gat in de lucht, omdat eindelijk mijn 2 bestellingen binnen waren gekomen. Er was vorige maand iets mis gegaan met de bestelling van december en januari, maar gelukkig vonden ze dit keer dan toch onze voordeur.

Yesterday I jump high, because finally my 2 orders arrived. Last month there were problems with my order from december and january, but this time they found our front door.

Maar ook vrijdag kreeg ik leuke post, want toen viel het quiltpatroon Natures Journey van Hatched and Patched op de deurmat. Ik hoef me de komende tijd zeker niet te vervelen ;-)

But also friday I got some nice post, because then the quilt pattern Natures Journey from Hatched and Patched was delivered. I'm sure I don't get bored the coming weeks ;-)

Lamb pin pillow

Vorige week kocht ik een aantal patronen van Teresa Murgida - Primitive Acorns (klik). De eerste die ik maakte was Lamb pin pillow en die werd geborduurd op een lapje linnen met zachte bruine stipjes, dat ik een tijdje terug kocht bij Atelier Soed-Idee (klik).

Last week I bought a couple of patterns by Teresa Murgida - Primitive Acorns (click). The first I made was Lamb pin pillow and I stitched it on a piece of linen with soft brown dots, which I bought some time ago by Atelier Soed-Idee (click).

Om er een eigen draai aan te geven, heb ik een paar kleuren veranderd. Verder heb ik aan de bovenkant een aantal oude knopen bevestigd.

For my own task I changed a few colors. I also added some old buttons on top.

Ik vond het speldenkussen zo leuk geworden, dat ik hem nogmaals maakte en gisteren aan mijn zus gaf, die vandaag jarig is. Yvon nog van harte gefeliciteerd !

I so much liked the pin pillow, that I made it twice and I gave one yesterday to my sister who has her birthday today.
