Amore Sampler socks

Een paar dagen geleden had ik de 2e sok af van de Amore Sampler socks. De patreons van de Bakery Bears kregen dit gratis op hun facebook groep in 12 delen. Daarna was het te koop op Ravelry (klik).

A few days ago I had the 2nd sock finished of the Amore Sampler socks. The patreons of the Bakery Bears got this for free on their facebook group in 12 parts. After that it was for sale on Ravelry (click). 

De sokken lijken hetzelfde, maar toch zijn ze anders. Elke sok heeft namelijk 5 verschillende ajour patroontjes, 10 in totaal. Je kunt deze 10 patronen ook weer voor andere sokken gebruiken, je zou dan 10 verschillende ajour sokken kunnen breien.
De patronen gebruikt in de rechtersok heten van boven naar beneden: Romance Lace, Affection Lace, Cherish Lace, Wonder Lace en Smitten Lace.

The socks look the same, but they are different. Each sock has 5 different lace patterns, 10 in total. You can also use these 10 patterns for other socks, you could then knit 10 different lace socks.
The patterns used in the right sock are named from top to bottom: Romance Lace, Affection Lace, Cherish Lace, Wonder Lace and Smitten Lace. 

Voor deze sokken heb ik het garen Metropolis van Scheepjes gebruikt. De roze is 52 Bangalore, waarvan ik 48 gram gebruikte en de zandkleur is 67 Buenos Aires waarvan ik 17 gram nodig had.
De patronen gebruikt in de linkersok heten van boven naar beneden: Devotion Lace, Endearment Lace, Friendship Lace, Admiration Lace en Love Lace.

For these socks I used the yarn Metropolis from Scheepjes. The pink is 52 Bangalore, of which I used 48 grams and the sand color is 67 Buenos Aires of which I needed 17 grams.
The patterns used in the left sock are called from top to bottom: Devotion Lace, Endearment Lace, Friendship Lace, Admiration Lace en Love Lace.

 

Lots to show and tell

Wat vliegt de tijd met een pup in huis. Ik heb weer genoeg om te laten zien en te vertellen. Zoals de mooie project tas die ik gewonnen had van Eldenwood craft op haar ravelry groep.

Bij Juffrouw lanterfant kon je een paar weken geleden een mysterybox bestellen in 3 maten. Ik bestelde de grote box en deze prachtige garens zaten erin.

A few weeks ago you could order a mystery box in 3 sizes from Juffrouw Lanterfant. I ordered the big box and these beautiful yarns were in it.

De 1e zending van mijn Opal abonnement van 2021 (4x per jaar 6 bollen) kwam vorige week  binnen en ook nu zijn de kleuren weer geweldig.

The first shipment of my Opal abo from 2021 (4 times 6 balls in a year) arrived last week and the colors are beautiful again.

 

De maart Mysterie set van Harry Potter van @nicolecmendez kwam ook enkele dagen geleden binnen. Dit is een 3 maanden abonnement met zelfstrepend garen. De kleur deze maand is Expecto Patronum en ik vind de blauwe kleuren heel mooi 😍

Ik heb het garen tot een bol opgedraaid zodat je een beetje ziet hoe het streeppatroon verloopt.

I wind the yarn to a ball so you can see how the stripe pattern will be.

Afgelopen vrijdag had ik ook een afspraak gemaakt bij Patch and Stitch, omdat ik een stofje moest hebben voor de bies van de I-Spy quilt voor Loïs. Deze is nog niet af, omdat ik het zo druk heb met Mees. Voor de bies gebruik ik het aardbeienstofje, de rest is voor toekomstige projecten.

Last Friday I also made an appointment with quiltshop Patch and Stitch, because I needed a fabric for the binding of the I-Spy quilt for Loïs. This one is not finished yet, because I am so busy with Mees. For the binding I will use the strawberry fabric, the rest is for future projects.

Maandag kreeg ik ook telefoon van het ziekenhuis, dat ik vrijdag mijn vaccin tegen Corona mag komen halen.

On Monday I also received a phone call from the hospital that I can come and get my vaccine against Corona on Friday.

Mees groeit goed en is een bom energie die door het huis vliegt. Onze kleine stuiterbal. Ik kom handen en ogen tekort. Het zindelijk maken gaat goed, af en toe nog een plasje in huis, maar voor de rest meld hij zich goed als hij naar buiten wil. Vandaag had hij zijn 13 weken inenting en nu hoeft hij pas weer als hij 1 jaar is.

Mees grows well and is a bomb of energy that flies through the house. Our little bouncing ball. It is a hand full. The toilet training goes well, now and then a little pee in the house, but otherwise he reports well if he wants to go outside. Today he had his 13 weeks vaccination and now he only needs it again when he is 1 year old. 

De kleinkinderen groeien ook super goed. Lana is nu al ruim 15 maanden en loopt ook al vrolijk los rond. Boeken, daar houdt ze wel van.

The grandchildren are also growing very well. Lana is now more than 15 months old and is happily walking around. She loves books.

Yara is nu bijna 10 maanden en begint zich overal aan op te trekken. Nog even en zij loopt ook. Gisteren en eergisteren was ze weer hier zodat ik kon oppassen terwijl papa en mama aan het werk zijn.

Yara is now almost 10 months old and she pulls herself up on everything. In a few months she will walk too. Yesterday and the day before yesterday she was here again so that I could babysit while mom and dad are at work.

En dan is er baby Loïs die nu alweer 3 weken is en ook zij doet het prima. Ze geniet steeds van haar badje.

And then there is baby Loïs who is already 3 weeks old and she is also doing fine. She always enjoys her bath. 

Third granddaughter is born

Afgelopen zaterdag 6 maart om 00.42 uur is onze derde kleindochter geboren. Ze is het zusje van de nu 15 maanden oude Lana en ze heet Loïs.

Last Saturday March 6 at 00.42 our third granddaughter was born. She is the sister of the now 15 month old Lana and her name is Loïs.

Vrijdagavond reed Michiel er om 21.15 uur heen (uiteraard met een vrijstelling voor de avondklok), want ze moesten zich om 22.30 uur melden in het ziekenhuis, omdat haar weeën om 21 uur begonnen waren. 

 

On Friday evening, Michiel drove there at 9:15 PM (with an exemption from the curfew, of course), because they had to report to the hospital at 10:30 PM, because her contractions had started at 9:00 PM.

 

Lana zou bij ons blijven slapen. Om 01.00 uur kregen we bericht dat Loïs om 00.42 uur geboren was. Het was weer net zo'n snelle bevalling als met Lana, vandaar ook dat zij zich zo vroeg moest melden in het ziekenhuis.

 

 Lana would spend the night with us. At 01.00 am we received a message that Loïs was born at 00.42 am. The delivery was just as fast as with Lana, which is why she had to report to the hospital so early.

 

Om 02.30 uur kregen we telefoon dat Michiel ze op kon halen in het ziekenhuis om terug naar huis te brengen. De kraamhulp ging ook mee.

At 2.30 am we received a phone call that Michiel could pick them up at the hospital to bring them back home. The maternity assistant also came along.

Lana was uit haar bed gehaald toen ze naar het ziekenhuis gingen en was klaarwakker toen ze bij ons kwam 's avonds, dus ze mocht nog eventjes opblijven voordat ze weer terug naar bed ging.

Lana had been taken out of bed when they went to the hospital and was wide awake when she came to us in the evening, so she was allowed to stay up for a while before going back to bed.

We hadden afgesproken dat we Lana pas rond 17 uur zouden brengen de volgende dag, zodat papa en mama eventjes tijd samen hadden met Loïs. Dus wij hebben de hele dag gespeeld met Lana die dat reuze gezellig vond.

We agreed that we would not bring Lana until around 5 pm the next day, so that Mum and Dad had some time together with Loïs. So we played all day with Lana who really enjoyed it.

En zaterdagmiddag was het dan eindelijk zover dat Lana haar zusje Loïs voor het eerst zag.

And Saturday afternoon it was finally time for Lana to see her sister Loïs for the first time.

Puppy spam

Inmiddels is Mees 2 weken oud en we genieten volop van hem. Hij speelt volop, zijn favoriete speelgoed is de oranje piep kluif die in het puppy proefpakket zat van Fokker Petfood.

Mees is now 2 weeks old and we thoroughly enjoy him. He plays a lot, his favorite toy is the orange squeaky bone that was in the puppy sample package from Fokker Petfood.

Hij slaapt ook bijna vanaf het begin 's nachts goed door tot de volgende morgen. Ook vanaf het begin loopt hij geweldig goed aan zijn riem als we een wandeling maken en dit kost natuurlijk de nodige energie.

He also sleeps well almost from the beginning of the night until the next morning. From the start he also walks very well on his leash when we take a walk and this naturally takes a lot of energy.

Ik was wel vergeten hoeveel werk het is om een puppy op te voeden hahaha. Ik heb de afgelopen 2 weken amper iets gedaan aan breien of quilten. Dat ligt allemaal even stil. Ik ben druk bezig met de zindelijkheidstraining. Wat Mees ook goed kan is slapen in allerlei rare standen.

I had forgotten how much work it is to raise a puppy hahaha. I have hardly done anything about knitting or quilting in the past 2 weeks. That all comes to a standstill. I am busy with toilet training. What Mees is also good at is sleeping in all kinds of strange positions.
