Forest walk with the grandchildren and birthday

Vandaag mag ik 62 kaarsjes uitblazen. De kinderen en kleinkinderen komen vanmiddag op bezoek.

Today I get to blow out 62 candles. The children and grandchildren are coming to visit this afternoon.

Daarom vandaag een bericht over de mooie boswandeling die we 2 weken geleden maakte met onze dochter en haar gezin. Dankzij de rollator en vele rust pauzes kon ik ook mee.

That's why today a message about the beautiful forest walk we took 2 weeks ago with our daughter and her family. Thanks to the walker and many rest breaks, I was also able to participate.

Er werd gekeken of er kikkers in het water zaten. Helaas konden ze er geen vinden maar later tijdens het wandelen kwamen we er een aantal tegen die op het bospad zaten.

They checked to see if there were frogs in the water. Unfortunately they couldn't find any but later while walking we came across a few sitting on the forest path.

Tijdens de wandeling werden er regelmatig eikels opgeraapt en mooie bladeren die ze meenamen.

During the walk, acorns and beautiful leaves were regularly picked up and cellected.

Tussendoor werd er ook even gespeeld en opeens riep Lana: "the floor is lava" 😀

Een verrekijker is toch interessant, want je kunt er aan twee kanten inkijken.

Na afloop wat lekkers, Loïs koos voor een appel en Lana voor 2 wortels.

Afterwards something tasty, Loïs opted for an apple and Lana for 2 carrots.

 

Gisteren waren we ook weer terug geweest naar Maastricht voor de uitslag van de mri. Onderweg was ik begonnen met mijn verjaardags sokken.

Yesterday we also went back to Maastricht for the resultst of the mri. On the way I started with my birthday socks.

Ik gebruik hiervoor de november yarn club van S7ors. Dat zijn 5 mini's.

Ik kreeg goed nieuws, de rest tumoren die nog bij de ruggenwervel zitten zijn stabiel gebleven, dus ik hoef pas over 1jaar terug.

I received good news, the rest of the tumors that are still in the spine have remained stable, so I don't have to return for another year.

Op mijn verzoek mag ik dan in mijn eigen ziekenhuis de mri laten doen en controle neuroloog. Scheelt toch een autorit van bijna 1 uur.
De pijn tussen de schouderbladen blijft helaas, daar is niets aan te doen. Er is in dat gebied bij de ruggenwervel teveel gebeurd zei hij. Advies is om met de huisarts te overleggen voor een pijnstiller.

At my request, I can then have the MRI done and a check-up by a neurologist in my own hospital. Saves a car journey of almost 1 hour.
Unfortunately, the pain between the shoulder blades remains, there is nothing that can be done about it. A lot has happened in that spinal area, he said. It is advisable to consult my GP for a painkiller.

Maar ik ben al super blij dat het verder stabiel is gebleven. Op de terugweg een heerlijke lunch.

En gisteren haakte ik ook de laatste kleur aan mijn linnen stitch deken. Nu nog even alle draadjes in stoppen.

And yesterday I also crocheted the last color on my linen stitch blanket. Now just plug in all the threads.

Wat staat verder op de planning voor november? Ik wil mijn verjaardags sokken afmaken en ook voor alle drie de kleindochters een paar sokken breien.

What else is planned for November? I want to finish my birthday socks and also knit a pair of socks for all three granddaughters.

 

Knitting and a colorful garden

Er is wat gebreid, maar niet zo heel veel, want ik heb al een paar weken wat last van mijn schouder. Dit had ik al toen ik nog met de Dear Jane blokjes bezig was, dus het is niet van het breien 😀. Ik doe het nu gewoon wat rustiger aan.

Met de Midwinter Mist sjaal van Yarnia Designs ben ik begonnen met de 2e kleur (daar waar het topje van de breinaald ligt). Je ziet nu goed dat er meer roze en groene spikkels verschijnen.

There is some knitting done, but not that much, because I have some problems with my shoulder for a couple of weeks now. I already had this when I was working on the Dear Jane blocks, so it's not from knitting 😀. I'm just taking it a bit slower now, so my shoulder can rest.
With the Midwinter Mist shawl from Yarnia Designs I started with the 2nd color (where the tip of the knitting needle is). You can now see that more pink and green speckles appear.

Er verschijnen al overal garen advent kalenders waar je je op in kunt schrijven. Vorig jaar had ik de meeste uit Engeland maar dat ga ik dit jaar niet doen vanwege de Brexit. Ik heb geen zin om eventueel extra BTW te gaan betalen als ze na 31 oktober aankomen. Ik denk dat het bij 3 garen kalenders blijft dit jaar 😂. 

Een komt van een Duitse indie-dyer die eigenlijk geen advent kalenders verkoopt, maar er voor mij speciaal een gaat verven omdat ik zo van haar garens hou 💓. De tweede die ik ga bestellen (als ze het dit jaar weer doen) zijn weer de 24 volle strengen van Irish Fairytale Yarns en dan is er natuurlijk weer de advent kalender van Het Wolbeest. HIER vind je alle informatie. Dit jaar extra leuk want je kunt kiezen uit 6 verschillende kleuren palletten. Ik hou mijn kleuren pallet nog geheim voorlopig, wel kan ik vertellen dat ik weer voor de 24 x 20 grams stengetjes ga.

Already yarn advent calendars appear everywhere that you can subscribe to. Last year I had the most from England but I won't do that this year because of the Brexit. I don't feel like paying extra VAT if they arrive after October 31. I think it will stay with 3 yarn calendars this year 😂.

One comes from a German indie-dyer who doesn't actually sell advent calendars, but will dye one especially for me because I love her yarns so much 💓. The second I'm going to order (if they do it again this year) are the 24 full skeins of Irish Fairytale Yarns and then of course there's the advent calendar from Het Wolbeest again. HERE you will find all information (in Dutch). This year extra fun because you can choose from 6 different color pallets. I still keep my color pallet secret for the time being, but I can tell that I am going for the 24 x 20 gram skeins again.

Door het zien van de advent kalender bedacht ik me ineens dat mijn advent sjaal van afgelopen jaar nog niet af is. Ik was blijven steken bij kleur 8 van de ADVENTurer wrap. De wolletjes zijn van de 2018 advent kalender van Het Wolbeest. Inmiddels staat kleur 9 er ook aan.

Seeing the advent calendar, I suddenly realized that my advent wrap from last year is not finished yet. I was stuck at color 8 of the ADVENTurer wrap. The yarn is from the 2018 advent calendar of Het Wolbeest. Meanwhile, color 9 is now knitted.

Vorige week kwam ook mijn Mei wolletje (Impressions of Nature) van de Warme Voeten Club van Het Wolbeest  binnen. Ook deze is weer geweldig.

Last week I also received my May skein (Impressions of Nature) from the Warm Feet Club of Het Wolbeest. Again such a beautiful one.

De arts uit Maastricht heeft gisteren ook gebeld en uit het bloedonderzoek kon niets gehaald worden waarom ik zo raar op sommige medicatie reageer.

The doctor from Maastricht also called yesterday and there was nothing in the blood test to explain why I react so strangely to some medication.

Hij kan verder ook geen aanwijzing vinden waarom ik zo benauwd blijft, maar denkt zelf wel dat ik heftiger op de COPD reageer dan op de astma.

He can also find no indication why I remain so short of breath, but he thinks that I respond more strongly to COPD than to asthma.

Hij gaat me nu op een andere inhalator zetten die ik nog niet geprobeerd heeft en die erg goed op COPD moet reageren.

He is now going to put me on a different inhaler that I haven't tried yet and it should respond very well to COPD.

Hij stuurt dan alle gegevens terug naar het Weert ziekenhuis, zodat ik daar weer terug op controle kan gaan i.p.v. in Maastricht.

He then sends all data back to my own hospital in Weert, so that I can go back there for my check-ups instead of in Maastricht (1 hour drive away). 

Ik kan vanmiddag de  nieuwe inhalator gaan halen bij de apotheek en nu maar hopen dat deze wel goed gaat werken en ik er geen bijwerkingen van krijg.

This afternoon I can go get the new inhaler at the pharmacy and now hope that it will work well and that I will not get any side effects.

Zoals jullie zien staan er veel planten en bloemen in bloei in de tuin.

As you can see there are many plants and flowers in bloom in the garden.

Vanaf morgen heeft Michiel ook 1 week vakantie.

From tomorrow Michiel also has 1 week of vacation.

Schoonmoeder komt morgen ook en blijft dan de hele week.

My mother-in-law also comes tomorrow and stays for the entire week.

A birthday and more blocks

Ik heb weer genoeg te vertellen vandaag, dus neem maar even een kopje koffie of thee 😀. Als eerste ga ik weer alle blokken laten zien die ik de afgelopen dagen heb gemaakt. Blok 58 is B13 Four Corner Press (vierhoeken pers).

Dit doet me denken aan een bloemenpers die we vroeger hadden. We plukten bloemen in de tuin en dan legden we die in de bloemenpers die de bloempjes helemaal plat maakte. Na een week of 2 haalden we de bloemen eruit en plakten ze in albums of op cadeaus.

This reminds me of a flower press that we used to have. We picked flowers in the garden and then we placed them in the flower press that flattened the flowers completely. After about two weeks, we took the flowers out and glued them into albums or on gifts.

Blok 59 is I12 Fred's Square Fair (Fred's vierkante jaarmarkt). Dit is vast het plein in het dorp waar jaarlijks de grote markt op staat. Een markt die van alles verkocht en waar Jane misschien wel sommige van haar lapjes kocht.

Door met blok 60, dat is E9 Quilt Jail (Quilt gevangenis). Bij dit blok vraag ik me af of er in gevangenissen ook gequilt wordt of zou dat te gevaarlijk zijn met al die snijmessen en scherpe quiltnaalden.

Op vrijdag werd blok 61 gemaakt, B10 Jud's Trophy (Jud's Trofee). Met wat zou Jud een trofee gewonnen hebben? Met paardrijden of misschien wel met het bakken van een heerlijke taart.

On Friday I made block 61, B10 Jud's Trophy. Whit what would Jud have won a trophy? With horse riding or perhaps with baking a delicious cake.

Blok 62 is I3 Family Album (Familie Album). Wat zou ik graag eens een kijkje nemen in het familie album van Jane.

Blok 63, het laatste voor vandaag is C13 Lakota Sioux. Sioux is een exonieme verzamelnaam voor de Lakota, de Nakota en de Dakota. Dit zijn inheems-Amerikaanse volkeren uit de VS en Canada die een van de drie grote Sioux-dialecten spreken.

Ik was een van de gelukkigen die een Eula breiset won, bestaande uit 4 strengen La Bien Aimée Mondim en het Eula patroon van Isabell Kraemer, een give away die georganiseerd werd door Atelyeah. Ik kreeg de kleur Sansa en het garen is geweldig en zo mooi !

Afgelopen donderdag moest ik op controle bij de longarts in Maastricht UMC en ze hebben daar zo'n mooie tegelvloer in het restaurant.

Last Thursday I had to go to the lung doctor in Maastricht UMC and they have such a beautiful tile floor in the restaurant.

De longarts wil me op andere medicatie gaan zetten die mijn benauwdheid meer aanpakt, maar omdat ik altijd zoveel bijwerkingen krijg van bepaalde medicatie is nu eerst bloed afgenomen.

The pulmonologist wants me to put on other medication that tackles my stuffiness more, but because I always get so many side effects from certain medication, blood has now been taken first.

Hier gaan ze nu een test mee doen waarin ze kunnen zien waarom mijn lever zo raar op bepaalde medicijnen reageerd. Dan kan de arts zien welke medicatie hij me WEL kan voorschrijven die me geen of amper bijwerkingen zullen geven. Ik krijg over 4 weken de uitslag, want deze test duurt een ruim 3 weken.

With the blood they are going to do a test in which they can see why my liver reacts so strange to certain medicines. Then the doctor can see which medication he can prescribe to me that will give me no or hardly any side effects. I will get the result in 4 weeks, because this test takes more than 3 weeks.

En vandaag is ook mijn oudste kind jarig, hij wordt 35 jaar. Niels gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag !
