Sunshower shawl

 Wat was dit een gezellige sjaal om te breien met al die verschillende kleuren.

This was such a fun knit with all those different colors.

Sunshower shawl - Ambah O'Brien
Yarn: Strawberry Fields Yarn (12 Days Of Christmas 2018 advent calendar)
(75% merino - 25% nylon)
Each mini ball is 20 gr. (85 m/93 yards)
Used a total of 104 grams
Circular bamboo needle 3.25 mm (US 3)

 

Het patroon is van Ambah O'Brien en is te vinden op Ravelry.
De sjaal is gebreid op naald 3.25  en hij is 160 x 50 cm.

De advent kalender had 12 kleuren en elke bal was 20 gram (85 m.). Ik heb niet van elke bal dezelfde hoeveelheid gebruikt, in total gebruikte ik 104 van de 240 gram. Dat betekent dat van de 850 m. er 442 m. in de sjaal zit.

 

The advent calendar had 12 colors and each little ball was 20 gram (85 m.). I didn't used the same amount of each ball, in total I used 104 of the 240 gram. That means I used 442 m from the 850 m. I had for this shawl.

13 oktober:
Mysterie set Herfst van Irish Fairytale Yarns kwam op 8 juli binnen. Dit is een seizoens abonnement dat 4x per jaar komt. De kleuren zijn weer prachtig.

October 13:
Mystery set Autumn from Irish Fairytale Yarns came on July 8. This is a seasonal subscription that comes 4 times a year. The colors are again wonderful.

16 oktober:
Bijna klaar met de i-cord bind off van de Sunshower sjaal.

19 oktober:
Ook ons 3e kleinkind zal een meisje zijn 😍. Nu nog 20 weekjes wachten.

October 19:
Our 3rd grandchild will also be a girl 😍. Now have to wait another 20 weeks.

20 oktober:
Mijn september  wolletje van de Warme Voeten club van Atelier Het Wolbeest was ook aangekomen. Thema dit jaar is Beatrix Potter. Erbij zat weer een mini streng, thee en iets van chocolade/caramel. Ook een leuke stitchmarker en een button voor aan een rits te bevestigen. Deze maand is het Dirk Das 😍.

October 20:

I recieved my September yarn from the Warme Voetenclub (warm feet club) from Atelier Het Wolbeest. Theme this year is Beatrix Potter. Also included is a mini skein, tea, caramel, a stitchmarker and a zipper pull. This month it is Tommy Brock 😍.

22 oktober:

Begonnen aan de Dance like no one's watching col, een patroon van Stitchcreatelove. Garen is  alpaca/merino DK van SnailYarn, color Pearl. Ik denk dat hij iets korter wordt want toen ik op de helft was, had ik al 54 gram van de 100 gram verbruikt.

 

October 22:

I started the Dance like no one's watching cowl from Stitchcreatelove. Yarn is alpaca/merino DK from SnailYarn, kleur Pearl. I think it will be 1 repeat shorter because when I knit half of the cowl I already used up 54  grams of the 100 grams.

23 oktober:
Mysterie Harry Potter set oktober van Nicole C. Mendez kwam gisteren binnen. Dit is een 3 maanden abonnement met zelfstrepend garen. De kleur deze maand is Felix de Feniks 😍

October 23:
Mystery Harry Potter set October from Nicole C. Mendez came yesterday. This is a 3 month subscription of selfstriping yarn. The color this month is Fawkes the Phoenix 😍 

Ik heb het garen tot een bol opgedraaid zodat je een beetje ziet hoe het streeppatroon verloopt.

I wind the yarn to a ball so you can see how the stripe pattern will be.

Mijn Sunflower sjaal is al enkele dagen af en ik heb hem ook al gewassen en opgespannen. Nu nog even foto's maken.

I finished my Sunflower shawl some days ago and I already washed and blocked it. I only have to take pictures.

Lots of knitting done

De afgelopen 2 weken ben ik druk bezig geweest met de Sunshower shawl van Ambah O'Brien. Ik brei deze met de 12 dagen advent kalender (uit 2018) van Strawberry Fields Yarns, thema Boeken. Ik zet even alles op datum, zodat je goed elke kleur kunt zien.
29 september:
Even de tijd genomen om kleur 7 (The snowman van Raymond Briggs)  te breien. Daarna begonnen met de kleur 8.

The past 2 weeks I have been busy with the Sunshower scarf from Ambah O'Brien. I knit these with the 12 day advent calendar (from 2018) from Strawberry Fields Yarns, theme Books. I put everything on a date, so that you can clearly see every color.
September 29:
Finally took the time to knit the 7th color (The snowman from Raymond Briggs). Just started with the 8th color.

2 oktober:
Kleur 8 is gebreid (Anne of  Green Gables).

October 2:
My 8th color (Anne of Green Gables) is knitted.

7 oktober:
Het breien gaat lekker. Kleur 9 (The war of the worlds - H.G. Wells)

October 7:
Knitting is going really good. Color 9 (The war of the worlds - H.G. Wells)

en 10 (Green eggs and ham - Dr. Seuss) zijn weer gebreid. Nog 2 kleuren te gaan.

10 oktober:
Dit weekend verder breien aan de sjaal. Kleur 11 is ook weer zo mooi.

October 10:
This weekend I'm working on my shawl. Love this next color 11.

12 oktober:
Kleur 11 (The gruffalo - Julia Donaldson en Axel Scheffler) is klaar.

De i-cord bind off ben ik nu met kleur 12 (Chocolat - Joanne Harris) aan het doen.

Ik hoop de sjaal met een dag of 2 af te krijgen. Mijn oktober streng van Piratenwolle is ook binnen gekomen, dit is van mijn jaar abonnement. Wat een prachtige kleur is dit, Halloween 2020.

I hope to finish the scarf in a day or two. My Oktober skein from Piratenwolle also arrived, it is from the year abo. I love the color Halloween 2020.

The last two weeks

Ik heb zoveel te vertellen over de laatste 2 weken, dat ik het maar in dagboek vorm opschrijf.

11 mei: 

Michiel heeft de aankomende 2 weken vakantie. 's Avonds kwamen zoon Niels en schoondochter Irene een prachtige bos bloemen brengen, omdat het gisteren moederdag was (helaas staat de foto zijwaarts en ik krijg hem niet gedraaid).

I have so much to say about the last 2 weeks that I write it down in diary form.

May 11:

Michiel has the next 2 weeks vacation. In the evening son Niels and daughter-in-law Irene brought a beautiful bunch of flowers, because it was Mother's Day yesterday (unfortunately the picture is sideways and I can't get it rotated).

12 mei:

Het maandelijkse wolletje van Piratenwolle is ook binnen. Voor mei is het de kleur Krabat.

May 12:

The monthly yarn from Piratenwolle arrived. For the month may it is Krabat.

15 mei:

Mijn april wolletje van de Warme Voeten club van Atelier Het Wolbeest was vorige week ook aangekomen. Thema dit jaar is Beatrix Potter. Erbij zat weer een mini streng, thee en iets van chocola. Ook een stitchmarker van Chapel view crafts in de vorm van een hommel. Deze maand is het Mr Jackson.

May 15:

16 mei:
Bijna klaar met de I-Spy quilt, nog een klein stukje van de bies vast zetten en dan wachten tot mijn 2e kleinkind geboren is, zodat ik een label met naam op de achterkant kan naaien.

May 16:
I'm almost done with the I-Spy quilt, just a little bit of sewing on the binding. Then I have to wait till my second grandchild is born, so I can sew on the label to the back with the name.

Bowy slaapt veel de laatste tijd, hij wordt oud (volgende maand 15 jaar).

Bowy is sleeping much lately, he is getting old ( next month 15 year).

17 mei:
En vandaag is Michiel jarig. Als verjaardagcadeau mocht hij een mooie telescoop uitzoeken die hij kan gebruiken tijdens zijn natuur wandelingen en bij de vogeltellingen die hij doet voor de plaatselijke vogelvereniging. Gisteren al heerlijke Custard en chocolade crumblies gebakken voor vandaag, naar een recept van de Bakery Bears. Het recept staat op youtube (bakery bears podcast aflevering 150).

May 17:
Today it is Michiel's birthday. As a birthday present I let him choose a nice telescope that he can use during his nature walks and the bird counts he does for the local bird association. Yesterday I baked the Custard and chocolate crumblies for today, a recipe from the Bakery Bears. You can find the recipe on youtube (bakery bears podcast episode 150).

18 mei:
De I-Spy quilt is helemaal af, nu is het wachten op de geboorte van het kleine wondertje (ik schrijf dit op 25 mei, Irene is nu ruim 39 weken zwanger en de kleine zit nog steeds lekker warm in mama's buik).

May 18:
The I-Spy quilt is finished, now we are waiting for the little one to get born (I write this on May 25, Irene is now more than 39 weeks pregnant and the little one is still nice and warm in mom's belly).
 

De 2e zending van mijn Opal abo kwam ook binnen, het zijn weer 6 prachtige kleuren.

The second shipment of my Opal abo came today, I love all the six colors.

19 mei:
Vandaag naar de The Log Cabin in Hillensberg geweest, inclusief mondkapje want dat is in Duitsland verplicht. Maar het was heerlijk om weer bij te kletsen met Jacqueline en ik heb super leuke stofjes, gevonden voor bij mijn Beatrix Potter stoffen uit Engeland.

May 19:
Today we went to quiltshop The Log Cabin in Hillensberg (Germany) and it was a wonderful day. I found some beautiful fabrics, that goes wonderful with my Beatrix Potter fabrics from England.

Verder nog 3 scrapzakjes en een ring voor mijn spoeltjes. Al met al een heerlijke dag.

I also bought some scrap bags and a bobbin ring.

21 mei:
Heerlijk om nu in de tuin te zitten en te breien.

Wonderful time to knit in the garden.

22 mei:
De post bracht me zojuist weer wat leesvoer. Altijd fijn om wat in voorraad te hebben.

May 22:
Just now the post brought me some books from Lucinda Riley. Always nice to have some books in the house that you haven't read.

En dan nog een paar foto's van Lana die inmiddels 5 1/2 maand is.

Begin van de maand moest ze naar de huisarts om haar (voor dit jaar) laatste 3 injecties te gaan halen.

At the beginning of this month she had to go to the doctor to get her last 3 injections (for this year).

Daarna was ze helemaal uitgeteld van al het huilen.

After that she was completely exhausted from all the crying.

En dan een selfie maken zodat je een leuke foto naar oma kunt sturen, maar tegelijkertijd schrik je ervan.

And then take a selfie so that you can send a nice photo to grandma, but at the same time you are shocked.

Making progress

Het lijkt wel lente, zo prachtig mooi weer is het. Michiel is er blij mee, want vandaag is het weer de jaarlijkse werkdag in het Weerterbos met de plaatselijke scouting. Een werkdag die Michiel elk jaar organiseert voor ze, in samenwerking met het Stichting Limburgs Landschap. 

Ik hou me in de tussentijd bezig met bolletjes wol. Kleur 3 van de Sunshower sjaal van Ambah O'Brien is ook weer gebreid. Het garen is van de 12 days advent kalender 2018 van Strawberry Fields Yarns ( boek thema).

It  looks like spring, so beautiful weather it is. Michiel is happy with it, because today is again the annual working day in a forst nearby called Weerterbos with the local scouting. A working day that Michiel organizes for them every year, in collaboration with the Limburg Landscape Foundation.
In the meantime I am busy with mt yarn. Color 3 of the Sunshower shawl from Ambah O'Brien is knitted. The yarn is from the 12 days advent calendar 2018 from Strawberry Fields Yarns (book theme).

En dan de Tea at Downton sokken, een patroon van Kay van de Bakery Bears. Wat een heerlijk patroon om te breien. Het garen is van Bollekes wol.

And then the Tea at Downton socks, a pattern of Kay from the Bakery Bears. What a wonderful pattern to knit. The yarn is from Bollekes wol, a Dutch yarn dyer.

Tot slot nog 2 foto's van kleindochter Lana, ze groeit als kool. Volgende week is ze alweer 3 maanden.
