Under the spell of the stars

De laatste 14 dagen ben ik alleen maar bezig geweest met de sterren.

The last 14 days I have only been busy with the stars.

Op 25 februari maakte ik de laatste ster.

On February 25 I made the last star.

In 14 dagen tijd maakte ik 77 hele en 8 halve sterren.

In 14 days I made 77 full and 8 half stars.

Daarna ben ik steeds sterren aan elkaar gaan maken tot rijen.

After that I started making stars together into rows.

En nu ben ik druk bezig om alle rijen aan elkaar te zetten, dit duurt nog het langst. Maar ik hoop de quilt volgende week wel in elkaar te hebben staan.

And now I'm busy putting all the rows together, this is taking the longest. But I hope to have the quilt put together by next week.

Tot zover de sterren. Op 20 februari was het ook 1 jaar geleden dat we Mees op konden halen. Dat jaar is echt omgevlogen.

So much for the stars. On February 20 it was also 1 year ago that we could pick up Mees. That year really flew by.

Er zijn ook 2 pakjes aangekomen. Als eerste dit leuk ingepakte pakje van Supergoof Quilts.

Also 2 packages have arrived. First up is this nicely wrapped package from Supergoof Quilts.

Ik had al verschillende keren zo mooie reproductie stofjes zien staan op de foto's die ze steeds post op FB en IG. De kleuren vond ik heel geschikt voor de 4x5 quilt block Anthology quilt waarmee ik dit jaar wil beginnen. Het boek staat al zo'n 3 jaar hier in de boekenkast. Dit zijn allemaal halve FQ's, behalve het lapje met de dieren, daarvan kocht ik een FQ.

Several times I had seen such beautiful reproduction fabrics in the pictures she keeps posting on FB and IG. I found the colors very suitable for the 4x5 quilt block Anthology quilt that I want to start this year. The book has been on my bookshelf for about 3 years now. These are all half FQ's, except for the piece with the animals, that is a FQ.

Als tweede kwam daar het pakje van Petra Prins met daarin het patroon Cordelia's Spinning Wheel van Brigitte Giblin en ook een pakje met rode stofjes die in de aanbieding waren. Die zullen ook in verschillende projecten komen.

Second came the package from Petra Prins containing the Cordelia's Spinning Wheel pattern by Brigitte Giblin and also a package with red fabrics that were on sale. They will be for different projects.

Verder ben ik op advies van de 2 fysio therapeuten die aan huis komen, terug gegaan naar de huisarts om verwijzingen te vragen voor een neuroloog en een orthopeed. De neuroloog voor mijn benen die nog steeds niet echt willen vanwege de aangetaste gevoelszenuwen en naar de orthopeed voor mijn rechterheup.  

 

Furthermore, on the advice of the 2 physiotherapists who come to my home, I went back to the GP to ask for referrals to a neurologist and an orthopedist. The neurologist for my legs that still don't really want to because of the affected sensory nerves and to the orthopedist for my right hip.

 

 

 Van die heup heb al sinds 2015 last van. Op foto's uit die tijd bleek dat vanwege een geboorte afwijking de heupkom niet goed op de heupkop zit, maar sinds een jaar of 3-4 is de pijn alleen maar toegenomen en sinds ik corona heb gehad straalt de pijn uit naar mijn lies en knie.  Tijd om de orthopeed er eens naar te laten kijken.

 

 I have been suffering from that hip since 2015. Photos from that time showed that due to a birth defect the hip socket is not properly on the femoral head, but since about 3-4 years the pain has only increased and since I had corona the pain radiates to my groin and knee. Time to have the orthopedist take a look.

De afspraken zijn inmiddels gemaakt. Ik kan op 11 maart terecht bij de orthopeed en op 23 maart bij de neuroloog. Ik ben benieuwd naar de uitkomst.
Verder kwam er vandaag ook nog een superleuke verrassing met de post. Een geweldig mooi project tasje gemaakt door een hele lieve vriendin. Ik glimlach nog steeds als ik naar het tasje kijk.

The appointments have already been made. I can go to the orthopedist on March 11 and the neurologist on March 23. I am curious about the outcome.
There was also a super nice surprise in the mail today. A very nice project bag made by a very sweet friend. I still smile when I look at the bag.

Books and fabrics

Op vrijdag 6 november waren we nog naar de quiltwinkel The Log Cabin in Duitsland geweest. Haar winkel is coronaproof  ingedeeld. Hele mooie stofjes mochten weer mee naar huis. Ik heb nog geen idee waarvoor ik ze gebruiken ga.

On Friday November 6 we went to the quilt shop The Log Cabin in Germany. Her store is classified corona proof. Very beautiful fabrics were allowed to take home again. I have no idea what I'm going to use them for yet.

Jacqueline heeft ook een papieren krant uitgebracht, vol weetjes, patroontjes en zelfs recepten. Heerlijk om te lezen.

Jacqueline has also released a paper newspaper, ful of facts, patterns and even recipies. Wonderful to read.

De volgende morgen, op zaterdag, ging ik eerst de griepprik halen en daarna door naar de Bruna om dit boek te kopen: Het cupcake cafe van Jenny Colgan. Haar boeken zijn echt super om te lezen.

The next morning, on Saturday, I first went to get my flu shot and then I went to a local bookshop to buy this book :  Meet me at the cupcake café from Jenny Colgan. Her books are really great to read.

Geboren op vrijdag de 13e en gisteren op vrijdag de 13e was Lana 11 maanden oud. Wat vliegt de tijd.

Born on Friday the 13th and yesterday on Friday the 13th Lana was 11 months old. Time flies.

Gisteren bracht de post me weer 2 boeken van Lucinda Riley.

Yesterday the post brought me again 2 books from Lucinda Riley. 

De advent kalenders beginnen ook zachtjes binnen te komen. Nog eventjes wachten en dan mag ik weer elke dag pakjes open maken. Ook dit jaar ga ik elke dag weer een advent berichtje schrijven.

The advent calendars are also starting to come in slowly. I still have to wait a while and then I can open packages every day. Also this year I will be writing an Advent post every day on this blog.

Diary July 30 - August 27

Alweer 1 maand voorbij zonder op mijn blog geschreven te hebben, dus ik ga maar weer een soort van dagboek schrijven ;-) 

30 juli: Als ik onder narcose ben geweest, dan ben ik nooit ziek, alleen dagen aan een stuk erg moe. Nu dus geen ingewikkeld breipatroon, maar gewoon een beetje relax appliceren waarbij ik niet teveel hoef na te denken.

Already 1 month passed without writing on my blog, so I'm going to do a sort of diary again ;-)

Juli 30: If I have been anesthetized, then I'm never ill, only very tired for days at a time. Now no complicated knitting pattern, but just a little relax applique, so I don't have to think too much.

2 Augustus: Heerlijk ijs gegeten bij IJssalon Florence, wat waren ze lekker.

August 2: We went for some ice cream at a local ice cream shop.

3 Augustus: Vanmorgen met een paar quiltvriendinnen van de Gunnerij uit Nederweert naar  Patch and Stitch geweest. Tja en als je eenmaal daar bent ...

en nog maar 3 rondjes te gaan en ik kan het middenstuk in elkaar gaan zetten van de A day at the park quilt van Susan Smith . 

Only 3 circles to go and I can put them all together. It is for the middle part of the A day at the park quilt from Susan Smith.

4 Augustus: Bijna klaar met deel 2 van de Crown Wools MKAL van Casapinka. Nu mijn neus ietsjes beter is, hoop ik ook meer te kunnen breien. Buiten in de tuin kijkend naar de super leuke podcast van Yarniadesigns.

August 4: I'm almost done with my clue 2 of the Crown Wools MKAL from Casapinka . Now my nose is a bit better, I hope I can knit more. Outside in the garden watching the wonderful podcast from Yarniadesigns.

's Avonds lekker makkelijk gegeten, aspergesoep met afbakstokbroodje ham/kaas.

We ate easy tonight, asparagus soup with bake baguette ham/cheese. 

5 Augustus: Deel 2 van de Crown Wools MKAL van Casapinka is klaar. Nu door met deel 3 die met een hele lichte grijze kleur wordt gedaan.

August 5: I finished my clue 2 of the Crown Wools MKAL from Casapinka . Now I can start with clue 3 for which I'm going to use a very light grey color.

7 Augustus: Mijn garens van Strawberry Fields Yarns zijn ook binnen. Op de 1e foto van links naar rechts: Watery spring rainbow, Unicorn Tales, Horcrux Harry Potter.
Op foto 2 zie je het garen van de maandelijkse Boek club van juli, deze maand was het The lion, the witch and the wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia). De kleur heet Narnia. Erbij zat een mooie pin van Aslan de leeuw en een potje wax om te branden.

Second picture: this is the yarn from the July book club. It was from The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. The color is called Narnia. A beautiful pin of Aslan was included and a little pot with wax melt.

10 Augustus: De grannie squares van week 10 voor de Vibrant Vintage 2018 deken van Cypress Textiles zijn klaar.

August 10: Week 10 is made for the Vibrant Vintage 2018 blanket from Cypress Textiles.

11 Augustus: Dit ging zo lekker, ook de grannie squares van week 11 voor de Vibrant Vintage 2018 deken van Cypress Textiles zijn klaar.

August 11: This went so very well, I also finished week 11 for the Vibrant Vintage 2018 blanket from Cypress Textiles.

12 Augustus: Van kleur Alium door naar kleur Peony, deel 4 van de Crown Wools MKAL is af.

August 12: From color Alium to color Peony, I finished clue 4 of the Crown Wools MKAL.

14 Augustus: Het feestje gaat verder, inmiddels is Loganberry ook gearriveerd. Deel 5 van de Crown Wools MKAL is klaar.

August 14: The party continues, now Loganberry has also arrived. Clue 5 of the Crown Wools MKAL is finished.

16 Augustus: De kleur Loganberry en deel 6 vloog van de naalden en nu mag ik verder met de kleur Parma en deel 7 van de Crown Wools MKAL van Casapinka.

August 16: The color Loganberry and clue 6 flew off the needles and now I may continue with color Parma and clue 7 of the Crown Wools MKAL from Casapinka.

18 Augustus: Van kleur Parma naar kleur Orchid, deel 7 van de Crown Wools MKAL van Casapinka is klaar, nu door met deel 8.

August 18: From color Parma to color Orchid, clue 7 of the Crown Wools MKAL from Casapinka is made, now further with clue 8.

Lunch vandaag: brood belegd met brie, walnoten, rozijnen, zongerijpte tomaatjes en besprenkeld met wat honing. Ernaast rucola met komkommer en aarbeien en een yoghurt dressing. Dat was smullen.

Lunch today: Bread topped with brie, walnuts, raisins, sun-ripened tomatoes and sprinkled with honey. Next to it, arugula with cucumber and strawberries and a yoghurt dressing. It was so delicious.

22 Augustus: De kleur Orchid van deel 8 van de Crown Wools MKAL van Casapinka is klaar, nu kan ik verder met de kleur Thistledown.

August 22: The color Orchid from clue 8 of the Crown Wools MKAL from Casapinka is made, now I can work with color Thistledown.

Bij Flock on a Plain zag ik dat ze een Gilmore Girls garen advent kalender had en aangezien ik stapelgek op deze serie ben, had ik geen andere keus dan me aan te melden hihihi .... De inschrijvingen zijn inmiddels gestopt.

I saw that Flock on a plain had some Gilmore Girls yarn advent calendars and because I just love that series, I had to join in the fun hihihi ... The pre-orders are now ended.

24 Augustus: petekind gaat winkelen en komt sokken tegen waarvan ze weet dat haar tante die geweldig vind. Zij weet waar ik van hou ;-)

August 24: My godchild went shopping and saw these socks. She knew I would love them and yes I do ;-)

Het middenstuk van de A day at the park quilt van Susan Smith is klaar. Nu kan ik verder met de vissenrand.

The middle part of the A day at the park quilt from Susan Smith is done. Now I can start working on the border with the fishes.

26 Augustus: Het weer begint kouder te worden en dan denk ik meteen aan de herfst, daarom mijn vakjeskast gevuld met herfst/halloween dingetjes.

August 26: The weather is starting  to be colder again, so I filled my cubby organizer with autumn/halloween things.

Mijn deel 9 van de Crown Wools MKAL van Casapinka is ook klaar. Nu verder met kleur Viola en deel 10. In totaal zijn er 12 delen, dus hij is bijna af.
