My plans for 2025

Bij een vrolijk jaar, een jaar vol kleur en blijheid hoort natuurlijk een header (kop foto) gevuld met kleur. Ik nam 3 foto's van (lopende) projecten die veel kleur hebben. En dat hebben we zeker nodig vandaag, want wat is het een ontstuimig weer buiten. Het stormt en regent, donkere wolken blijven lang hangen op dezelfde plaats en de wind raast voorbij.

A cheerful year, a year full of color and happiness, naturally requires a header filled with color. I took 3 photos of (ongoing) projects that have a lot of color. And we certainly need that today, because it's stormy weather outside. It storms and rains, dark clouds linger in the same place for a long time and the wind rushes by.

Ik dacht ik zal eens (ook voor mezelf als herinnering) een berichtje maken met daarin de plannen die ik heb voor 2025. Nu wil het niet zeggen dat ik ook al deze plannen af moet krijgen dit jaar, want er zitten ook wat grotere projecten bij.
Als eerste is daar de Past, Present and Future deken van Mirjam Molenbeek die ik wel dit jaar af wil krijgen.

I thought I would make a message (also for myself as a reminder) containing the plans I have for 2025. Now it does not mean that I have to finish all these plans this year, because there are also some larger projects.
First up is the Past, Present and Future blanket by Mirjam Molenbeek that I want to finish this year.

Ik ben deze 30 november vorig jaar begonnen met de strengetjes uit de advent kalender 2024 van Therese Notenboom.

I started this November 30 last year with the skeins from the Advent calendar 2024 from Therese Notenboom.

en als de deken dan nog niet lang genoeg is dan vul ik ze aan met strengetjes van haar advent kalender 2023 en nog wat andere kleuren van haar.

and if the blanket is still not long enough, I supplement it with skeins from her Advent calendar 2023 and some other colors of hers.

Daarnaast ben ik op 23 december vorig jaar begonnen met grannies te haken. Ik gebruik hiervoor de 18 garens van Gerda Hartman die ik kreeg via de #sokkenwoladventswap24.

In addition, I started crocheting grannies on December 23 last year. I use the 18 yarns from Gerda Hartman that I received via #sokkenwoladventswap24.

Deze 18 geven al een mooie gekleurde stapel, maar zijn nog lang niet genoeg om er een deken mee te maken.

Er zaten ook nog 2 opal bolletjes en 6 mini strengen bij

Deze heb ik nu ook opgehaakt tot grannies. Er bleven nog wat restjes over en daarvan kon ik nog 3 grannies haken zodat het toaal nu staat op 29 grannies.

I have now also crocheted this into a grannies. There were still some leftovers left and I was able to crochet 3 more grannies so that the total now stands at 29 grannies.

Nu ga ik verder met de 24 wolletjes uit de swap die ik kreeg van vriendin Else. Ook deze garens komen in deze deken. Ik kan dus nog even vooruit met grannies haken.

Now I'll continue with the 24 pieces of wool from the swap I got from my friend Else. These yarns also come in this blanket. So I can continue crocheting with grannies for a while.

Wat zijn mijn verdere plannen? Ik wil met de garens uit de advent kalender 2024 van Made by Lisetje een sjaal gaan breien. De La Bohème sjaal van Tricot & Stitch.

What are my further plans? I want to knit a shawl with the yarns from the 2024 advent calendar from Made by Lisetje. The La Bohème shawl from Tricot & Stitch.

Met de garens uit de advent kalender 2024 van Witzomer wil ik de  Anthology Throw van Helen Stewart gaan maken.

Dan heb ik ook nog de 24 kleuren van @frautschitschi_crochet (op instagram of Tschitschishop op etsy) die ik in november kocht vorig jaar. Hiermee wil ik een chevron deken gaan haken.

Daarnaast wil ik ook het quilten terug op gaan oppakken want ik heb zoveel stofjes liggen die erom vragen om verwerkt te worden in quilts en/of projecttasjes. Zoals deze stofjes die ik enige tijd geleden kocht bij Studio Het Gooi

I also want to take up quilting again because I have so many fabrics that are asking to be used in quilts and/or project bags. Like these fabrics that I bought some time ago at Studio Het Gooi

Dit jaar ga ik ook proberen om 1 foto van de dag te maken. Ik ga deze niet elke dag posten, maar ik maak er meer een weekoverzicht van met 7 verschillende foto's die ik dan post als ik een berichtje schrijf. Op mijn kalender begint de nieuwe week steeds op zondag, wat betekent dat we nu in week 2 zitten.
Week 1:
1 januari stapel sokken gebreid in 2024
2 januari koffie in een mok die ik in Engeland kocht in januari 2020 met op de achtegrond de toverlamp van Esther Bennink
3 januari een keer in de 2 weken is er een youtube video van The bakery bears waar ik altijd naar kijk
4 januari stapel met de laatste 11 grannies

This year I will also try to take 1 photo of the day. I'm not going to post this every day, but I'm making it more of a weekly overview with 7 different photos that I then post when I write a message. On my calendar the new week always starts on Sunday, which means we are now in week 2.

January 1 stack of socks knitted in 2024
January 2 coffee in a mug that I bought in England in January 2020 with Esther Bennink's magic lamp in the background
January 3 Once every 2 weeks there is a YouTube video of The Bakery Bears that I always watch
January 4 stack with the last 11 grannies

Er komen natuurlijk veel meer projecten aan, want Kay Jones  is alweer begonnen met een nieuw project The perfect sock. Daarnaast begint ze op 1 februari weer met Valenvent en dat zijn dit keer een paar sokken. Verder ben ik gestart met een paar scrappy sokken voor mijn dochter, daarover de volgende keer meer.
Zoals je kunt lezen staan ook mijn handen in 2025 niet stil.

There are of course many more projects to come, because Kay Jones has already started a new project The perfect sock. She will also start Valenvent again on February 1 and this time it will be a pair of socks. I also started with a pair of scrappy socks for my daughter, more about that next time.
As you can read, my hands will not stand still in 2025.

A bit of this and that

 Ik heb de laatste 2 weken niet veel gedaan, want ik kreeg van de huisarts Pregabaline voor de neuropathie (zenuwpijn) en daar was ik behoorlijk duizelig door. Gelukkig gaat dit nu stukken beter. De pijn is ietsjes minder maar niet echt veel. Op 4 december moet ik terug komen bij de huisarts.

I haven't done much the last 2 weeks. My GP had given me Pregabalin for the neuropathy (nerve pain) and I was a lot of dizzy from it. It is much better now. The pain is a little less, but not much. I have to return to the doctor on December 4.

Zoveel bloemen aan zo'n klein plantje. Hij staat nog steeds in zijn 10 cm doorsnee potje van ruim 15 jaar geleden en de lidcactus voelt zich echt happy.

So many flowers on such a small plant. It is still in its 10 cm diameter pot from over 15 years ago and the Schlumbergera (Christmas cactus) feels really happy.

In december wil ik, naast het advent project van de Bakery Bears, de Past Present Future Blanket  van Mirjam Molenbeek gaan breien met de adventkalender 2024 van Therese Notenboom, maar omdat ik de deken een stuk breder en langer wil maken heb ik de adventskalender van vorig jaar en nog andere mini strengen van Therese ook opgedraait, zodat alles klaar ligt voor 1 december.

In December, in addition to the advent Bakery Bears project, I want to knit the Past Present Future Blanket  from Mirjam Molenbeek. I'm going to knit it with the 2024 advent calendar from Therese Notenboom, but because I want to make the blanket a lot wider and longer, I also wound up last year's advent calendar and other mini skeins from Therese, so that everything is ready for December 1.

Ook ben ik zo blij met mijn nieuwe waterkoker, een Pippi Langkous versie. Elke keer als ik water kook moet ik lachen, ik vind hem geweldig. Hij is wel wat zwaarder omdat hij van keramiek is. De mooie doos kun je hergebruiken.

I am so happy with my new kettle, a Pippi Longstocking version. Every time I boil water I get a smile, I love it. It is a bit heavier because it is made of ceramic. You can reuse the beautiful box.

Ik vind het leuk om tijdens de advent dagen in december elke dag iets te lezen. Ik vond op amazon het boek Advent of Love, 31 Christmas romance verhalen. Een kort verhaal voor elke dag.
Ook kreeg ik het boek Countdown to Christmas van Jo Thomas binnen, voor het geval ik tijd over heb. Ik lees momenteel haar boek De Italiaanse droom dat ik geweldig vind.
Genoeg te lezen dus in december.

I like to read something every day during the Advent days in December. I found the book Advent of Love, 31 Christmas romance stories on Amazon. A short story fro every day.
I also received the book Countdown to Christmas by Jo Thomas, just in case I have time left. I am currently reading her book The olive branch which I love.
So plenty to read in December.

Het pakket dat ik samengesteld had voor de #sokkenwoladventswap24 georganiseerd door @adriella_kb_and_more op instagram is goed aangekomen bij de ontvanger Ina Kamsteeg (@_by_ina_).
Ik zelf kreeg een pakket gemaakt door Gerda Hartman (@gerlily22). Nu nog even wachten tot het 1 december is.

Een week geleden kwam ook de bestelling binnen van Crealien Design. De sokkenset rechts is Christmas Cookies (merino tweed) en links ligt een mini set (gold sparkle) met 6 prachtige kleuren die ik wil gebruiken voor nog een Reading Corner col, een patroon van Kay Jones.

A week ago the order also came in from Crealien Design. The sock set on the right is Christmas Cookies (merino tweed) and on the left is a mini set (gold sparkle) with 6 beautiful colors that I want to use for another Reading Corner cowl, a pattern by Kay Jones.

Als het me gaat lukken dan zal ik zeker nog een berichtje schrijven voor de advent begint over welke advent kalenders ik allemaal heb, het zijn er weer genoeg, maar dat zijn jullie van me gewend.
Ik weet nu al dat er weer berichtjes komen over waarom ik er zoveel heb en dat dat niet normaal is. Ik stoor me er gelukkig niet aan en als ik ze kan berichten door middels een email, dan vertel ik ook dat de een kiest om 1x of vaker op vakantie te gaan per jaar of om elke zaterdag te gaan winkelen in de stad, juist dingen waar ik niet echt van hou. Ik hou juist van advent kalenders, einde verhaal !

De adventskalender van @frautschitschi_crochet op instagram of Tschitschishop op etsy wil ik jullie wel laten zien. Het zijn 24 bolletjes sokkenwol van 25 gram in heel veel verschillende kleur keuzes waaruit je kunt kiezen. Ze zitten in 2 metalen blikken en ze zijn niet apart verpakt. Je ziet meteen alle kleuren. Dit staat er ook duidelijk bij vermeld. Ik vond dat niet erg, want ik wil er in december een chevron deken mee haken, mits ik er de tijd voor heb en anders wordt het na de feestdagen. Ik koos voor regenboogkleuren.

I would like to show you the advent calendar from @frautschitschi_crochet on Instagram or Tschitschishop on Etsy. They are 24 balls of sock wool of 25 grams in many different color choices from which you can choose. They come in 2 metal tins and are not individually packaged. You immediately see all the colors. This is also clearly stated. I didn't mind that, because I want to crochet a chevron blanket with it in December, if I have the time, otherwise it will be after the holidays. I chose rainbow colors.
