Planina wrap

Elke dag kwamen er andere kleurtjes voorbij. Het breien met het garen van een advent kalender is zo geweldig leuk om te doen ;-)

Each day I saw different colors. Knitting with yarn from an advent calendar is so much fun ;-)

 Planina wrap - Shara Made
Yarn: Hazel Soft Sock from Herbstblatt Regina  (24 mini skeins from the 2017 advent calendar)
(80% merino - 20% nylon)
Mini skein is 10 gr. (40 m/43 yards) - Used 24 x 10 gr. = 960 m/1049 yards
Circular needle 4 mm (US 6)

De Planina wrap is gebreid met 24 mini strengetjes. Deze zijn van de Hazel Soft sock van Herbstblatt Regina (klik) in allerlei kerst kleurtjes. De laatste 3 kleuren die ik nog niet heb laten zien waren: Green cables, Flannel weather en Holly jolly.

The Planina wrap is knit with 24 mini skeins. They are the Hazel Soft sock from Herbstblatt Regina (click) in all kind of Christmas colors. The latest 3 colors I didn't show you were: Green cables, Flannel weather en Holly jolly.

Het patroon ziet er misschien moeilijk uit, maar in werkelijkheid is het best een makkelijk patroon om te breien. Na een paar cm breien ken je het al uit je hoofd. Ik moet ook bekennen dat ik het zelfs een zeer verslavend patroon vond om te breien.

Although the pattern looks maybe a bit different, it is really a easy pattern to knit. After a few cm. of knitting you already know the pattern from your head. I confess ... it is a very addicted pattern to knit.

De mini strengen waren elk 10 gram (40 m.) Er zaten er 24 in de advent kalender en ik heb ze allemaal opgebruikt. Dit is dus 24 x 40 m is 960 m. 

The mini skeins were each 10 grams (40 m / 43 yards). There were 24 in  the advent calendar and I used everything. So that was 24 x 40 m / 43 yards is 960 m / 1049 yards. 

De sjaal is gebreid op naald 4 mm  en hij is 190 x 30 cm.

The shawl is knitted on needle 4mm (US 6) and it's 190 x 30 cm. (75" x 12").

Martha's Meadow finished

Dit was een enorm leuk patroon om te breien, maar dat kwam ook mede door het prachtige garen.

This was such a fun pattern to knit, but it was also due to the beautiful yarn.

De sjaal is gebreid met het prachtige garen van Swans Island. De kleuren komen uit de Natural Color Collection. Ik gebruikte 2 kleuren, de Oatmeal (beige) en de Fig (paars), die ik kocht bij Atelyeah (klik)  in Duitsland van de zomer.

The shawl is knit with the beautiful yarn from Swans Island. The colors come from the Natural Colors Collection. I used 2 colors, the Oatmeal (beige) and the Fig (purple) which I bought at Atelyeah (click) in Germany this summer.

De Oatmeal is een samenstelling van 85% organic merino en 15% alpaca. De Fig is 100% organic merino. Het garen is zo super zacht ! Het patroon ziet er misschien moeilijk uit, maar in werkelijkheid is het best een makkelijk patroon om te breien.

De Oatmeal streng was 100 gram (480 m.) en ik had nog 10 gram over. Dat betekent dat er 432 m. in de sjaal zit. De Fig streng was ook 100 gram en daar had ik 27 gram van over. Hiervan heb ik dus 350 m. gebruikt.

The Oatmeal  skein was 100 gram (480 m / 525 yards) and I had 10 gram left over. That means that I used 432 m / 472 yards in this shawl.  The Fig skein was also 100 gram and I had 27 grams left over. So I have used 350 m / 383 yards of this.

De sjaal is gebreid op naald 3.25  en hij is 195 x 60 cm.

The shawl is knitted on needle 3.25 (US 3) and it's 195 cm x 60 cm (77" x 24").

Artemis shawl

Dit was ook weer zo'n ontzettend fijn patroon om te breien. Begonnen op 19 februari en op 1 maart afgekregen, dus in 10 dagen tijd weer een sjaal erbij ;-)

This was such a wonderful pattern to knit. I started on February 19 and finished it on march 1, so in 10 days I can add another shawl to the pile :-)

De Artemis sjaal is gebreid met 2 verschillende garens. De groene hoofdkleur is de Diva Sock Delight van Dutch Wool Diva (klik) in de kleur Ensalada. De 5 kleuren zijn mini strengen merino singles van Martin's Lab (klik) uit 2 verschillende bundels.

De groene streng was 100 gram (400 m.) en ik had nog 20 gram over. Dat betekent dat er 320 m. in de sjaal zit. De 5 mini strengen waren samen 100 gram, en 366 meter (elk 20 gram/73 meter). Ik had daar amper iets van over.

The green skein was 100 gram (400 m.) and I had 20 gram left over. That means that I used 320 m. in this shawl.  The 5 mini skein was together 100 gram and were 366 meter (each was 20 gram/73 meter). I had so little left over that I didn't weight it.

De sjaal is gebreid op naald 3.75  en hij is 160 x 65 cm.

The shawl is knitted on needle 3.75 (US 5) and it's 160 x 65 cm.

Lamina wrap

Alle draadjes van de Lamina wrap zijn ingestopt, dus mocht hij op de foto.

All the threads of the Lamina wrap are woven in, so I could make pictures.

Lamina wrap - Ambah O'Brien
Yarn: Zwerger Garn Opal Adventskalender (24 multi colors)
(75% wool - 25% nylon)

Each mini ball is 15 gr. (63 m/69 yards)

Used 24 x 25m/27 yards = total 600m/648 yards
Yarn: Merino from Mrs Robinson's Hand-dyed Yarns (no color name)
(100% merino)

De Lamina sjaal is gebreid met 2 verschillende garens. Allereerst heb ik de 24 kleuren gebruikt van de Opal advent kalender 2017. De roomwitte kleur is van Mrs Robinson's Hand-dyed Yarns, maar heeft geen kleurnaam. 

The Lamina wrap is knitted with 2 kind of yarns. First are the 24 colors of the Opal advent calendar 2017. The off-white color is from Mrs Robinson's Hand-dyed Yarns, it has no color name.

Hoewel het garen van de advent kalender een kombinatie is van wol en nylon en de roomwitte 100 % merino, zijn ze heerlijk om samen te breien voor een sjaal. Het Opal garen wordt heel zacht na het wassen.

Although  the yarns of the advent calendar is wool with nylon and the off-white is 100 % merino, they work perfect together. The Opal yarn got very soft after washing.

De advent kalender heeft 24 kleuren en elke bal was 15 gram (63 m.), daarvan hield ik ongeveer 9 gram over per bal. Dat betekent dat er 24 x 25 m. = 600 m. in de sjaal zit. De room-witte streng was 100 gram en had 440 meter. Ik had daar 30 gram van over, dus daar is 308 m. van gebruikt. Het totaal aantal meters voor deze sjaal was 908 meter.

The advent calendar had 24 colors and each little ball was 15 gram (63 m.) and I had 9 gram left over from each one. That means that I used 24 x 25 m. = 600 m. in this shawl.  The off-white skein was 100 gram but had 440. I had 30 gram left over, so I used 308 m. In total I used for this wrap 908 meter.

Door de vele kleuren die in elk Opal bolletje zat was ik even bang dat de sjaal veel te bont zou worden, maar door steeds een roomwitte baan er tussen te breien, is dit verzacht. Ik ben er super blij mee! Mijn 2e project voor de 2018MakeNine (klik) lijst is af.

Because of the multi colors in each little Opal ball, I was afraid that the wrap would be way to much colorful. But because I knitted a off-white between each of them it has soften up. I'm so happy with this wrap ! My second project for the 2018MakeNine (click) list is finished.

Planina wrap and carnival

Ik moet nog steeds de draadjes instoppen van mijn Lamina wrap, maar ik ben wel al aan een nieuwe sjaal begonnen. Ik liet 4 dagen geleden deze foto al zien op facebook, het is de Planina wrap van Shara Lambeth Designs (klik) en ik ga hem breien met de garens van de Advent kalender 2017 van Herbstblatt Regina. De eerste kleur was: It’s beginning to look a lot like …

I still have to sew in all the threads of the Lamina wrap, but in the meanwhile I started this new wrap. I showed this picture 4 days ago on facebook, it is the Planina wrap from Shara Lambeth Designs (click) and I'm using the  Herbstblatt Regina advent calendar 2017 yarn. The first color is called: It's beginning to look a lot like ...

De Olympische Spelen zijn ook begonnen en als je steeds een andere kleur moet breien dan gaat het best wel snel. Nu tijdens het kijken van de short track speed skating ben ik bezig met kleur 4 (Candlelight in the dark). De namen van kleur 2 en 3 waren: Under the mistletoe en Dreaming of a white Christmas.

The Olympic Games also started and when you have to take a new color each time, the knitting is going fast. While watching the short track speed skating I'm knitting color 4 (Candlelight in the dark).  The names of color 2 and 3 are: Under the mistletoe and Dreaming of a white Christmas.

Gisteren hadden we ook de carnavals optocht in ons dorp, hier enkele foto's.

Yesterday we had the carnival parade (click to see what carnival means in the Netherlands) in our village, here a few picture's.

Shawl and blanket

De Lamina wrap van Ambah O'Brien staat ook op mijn 2018 Make Nine lijst. Inmiddels ben ik bij kleur 11 van de Opal advent kalender aangekomen en ik vind hem leuker en leuker worden !

The Lamina wrap by Ambah O'Brien is also on my 2018 Make Nine list. I'm now knitting color 11 of the Opal advent calendar into the wrap.

En ik blijf ook haken aan de granny squares deken met het 3 Cento garen van Lana Grossa. Ik heb nu 5 rijen van 8 blokken af.

And I keep crocheting on the granny squares blanket with the 3 Cento yarn from Lana Grossa. I have no 5 rows of 8 blocks ready.

Lightning shawl

Mijn vierde sjaal van de Strickmich Club van Martina Behm (klik) is ook klaar. Hij was in 6 dagen gebreid.

My fourth shawl from the Strickmich Club from Martina Behm (click) is also finished. It only took me 6 days.

Het patroon heet Lightning en zal ergens in mei te koop zijn op Ravelry. Patronen van de Strickmich Club zijn namelijk pas na 6 maanden te koop voor niet-leden.

The pattern is called Lightning and it will be for sale on Ravelry somewhere in May. Patterns from the Strickmich Club are the first 6 months only for members.

 

De sjaal is gebreid met het garen Yummy 2-ply van Miss Babs in de kleur Ziggy Stardust. De merino wol  is heerlijk om mee te breien en superzacht. 

The scarf is knitted with the yarn Yummy 2-ply from Miss Babs in the color Ziggy Stardust. The merino wool is a delight to knit with and is unbelievable soft. 

De streng was 115 gram en er zat 365 meter op. Ik hield 3 gram (10 m.) over. De sjaal is gebreid op rondbreinaald nr 3.5 en hij is 185 cm x 30 cm.

The skein was 115 gram and had 365 meter on it. My left over was 3 gram (10 m).  The scarf is knitted on circular needle 3.5 mm (US 4) and it is 185 cm x 30 cm.

De Strickmich Club leden krijgen 4x per jaar een pakje thuis met een nieuw patroon en speciaal daarvoor geverfd garen. Er zitten ook steeds 4 glaskralen bij in de kleuren van de Strickmich Club; blauw, groen, geel en rood. Deze kun je dan in de laatste toer van je sjaal meebreien.

Members of the Strickmich Club get 4 times a year a package with a new pattern and special for the club dyed yarn. There are also every time 4 glass beads included in the colors of the Strickmich Club; blue, green, yellow and red. You can add them in your last row of your scarf.

Zoals jullie misschien weten blijf ik de patronen van Martina Behm geweldig vinden, ze zijn eenvoudig en toch hebben ze altijd weer een hele aparte vorm. In november had ik me dan ook weer opgegeven voor de club van 2018. Het is geen goedkope club, maar aangezien november mijn verjaardags maand is, is dit   mijn verjaardagscadeau ;-) De eerste zending van 2018 komt begin februari en ik ben nu alweer super benieuwd !

As you may know I love the patterns of Martina Behm, because they are simple to make and yet they have such a different shape each time. Last november I again signed up for the club of 2018. It is not a cheap club, but since november is my birth month, I see it as my birthday present ;-) I can't wait to see the contents of our next package, that will be delivered somewhere in the beginning of February.
