Overview advent calendars

Ik hoop dat iedereen hele fijne kerstdagen heeft gehad. Hier zijn de dagen omgevlogen en dan ineens is het de laatste dag van 2022. Tijd om de foto's te plaatsen van alle garens en stofjes per advent kalender bij elkaar in 1 overzichtsfoto.

Wat heb ik weer genoten van alle kalenders, sommige heb ik alweer genoteerd voor het nieuwe jaar. Mijn brei en haak plannen heb ik in het bericht van 22 december al verteld. Ik doe nog even voorzichtig aan, want mijn rechterhand geeft sinds een dag of 10 wat problemen. Hier laat ik maandag even de fysio naar kijken.
Dan wil ik jullie allemaal een fijn oudjaar wensen en voor het nieuwe jaar de beste wensen en een goede gezondheid, want dat is toch wel het belangrijkste, nietwaar?

How I enjoyed all the calendars again, some I have already noted down for the new year. I already told my knitting and crochet plans in the message of December 22nd. I'm still careful, because my right hand has been having some problems for about 10 days. I'll have the physio look at this on Monday.
Then I want to wish you all a happy new year and best wishes for the new year and good health, because that is the most important thing, right?

Gisteravond mocht ik nog 3 pakjes open maken, de eerste is van Atelier Sopra, dit keer een mooie lichtgele met een groene mini streng.

Last night I was allowed to open 3 more packages, the first is from Atelier Sopra, this time a beautiful light yellow with a green mini skein.

De volgende is van Rosy Garn uit Duitsland. Ook deze is weer schitterend, erbij een zakje om chocomelk te maken.

Als derde was daar die van The Happy Kiwi Stitchmarkers. Het kerstthema is: t'was the night before Christmas. Vandaag een kerstmuts.

En vanmorgen mocht ik het laatste pakje open maken van de Dutch Advent Swap 2022 van Ellen Dorrestijn. Er zat een mooie kerstboom kaars in.

And this morning I was allowed to open the last package of the Dutch Advent Swap 2022 from Ellen Dorrestijn. There was a beautiful Christmas tree candle in it.

Maar dat is nog niet alles, want er is vandaag ook nog iemand jarig en hij wordt 2 jaar.

But that's not all, because today is also someone's birthday and he turns 2 years old.

Van mijn vriendin kreeg hij een grote pretzel voor zijn verjaardag waar hij nu al meer dan 1 uur op aan het knabbelen is.

My friend gave him a big pretzel for his birthday that he has been nibbling on for over 1 hour now.

Fourth Advent Sunday

Vandaag is het de 4e zondag van advent, dus we mogen het 4e kaarsje aansteken. Dit zijn de kalenders die alleen op de advent zondagen geopend worden.

Today is the 4th Sunday of Advent, so we can light the 4th candle. These are the calendars that are only opened on Advent Sundays.

De eerste is van Atelier Sopra, de blauwe kleur is weer prachtig en de mini streng is rood bruin.

The first one is from Atelier Sopra, the blue color is beautiful and the mini skein is red brown.

De volgende is van Rosy Garn uit Duitsland. Deze streng uit de Neon Rainbow kalender heeft alle kleuren in zich die op het plaatje staan. Prachtig !

 Vandaag is het de 2e zondag van advent, dus we mogen het 2e kaarsje aansteken. Dit zijn de kalenders die alleen op de advent zondagen geopend worden.

De eerste is van Atelier Sopra, de kleur is prachtig en de mini streng is donkerrood die er heel mooi bij past.

First Advent Sunday

Vandaag is het de 1e zondag van advent, dus we mogen het 1e kaarsje aansteken. Net als vorig jaar heb ik dit jaar gekozen voor een aantal kalenders die alleen op de advent zondagen geopend mogen worden. De andere kalenders beginnen pas op 1 december.

Today is the 1st Sunday of Advent, so we can light the 1st candle. Just like last year, this year I have chosen a number of calendars that can only be opened on Advent Sundays. The other calendars do not start until December 1.

 

De eerste is van Atelier Sopra, ik had haar gevraagd of ze me 6 sokkensets wilde samenstellen voor de adventzondagen, sinterklaas en kerstavond. Ze had alleen advent kalenders met 24 mini strengen, maar ze wilde dit graag voor me doen. Als eerste deze mooie sokkenset. Ik vind de streng met de groene mini streng geweldig.

The first is from Atelier Sopra, I asked her if she would put together 6 sock sets for Advent Sundays, Sinterklaas and Christmas Eve. She only had advent calendars with 24 mini skeins, but she was happy to do this for me. First of all this beautiful sock set. I really like this color with the green mini skein.

 

De volgende is van Rosy Garn uit Duitsland. Ik had bij haar de Neon Rainbow kalender besteld, heerlijk felle kleurtjes. In haar pakket zitten 5 strengen, voor elke adventzondag en nog 1 voor kerstavond. Vandaag zit er deze mooie streng in.

The next one is from Rosy Garn from Germany. I ordered the Neon Rainbow calendar from her, wonderfully bright colors. In her package there are 5 skeins, for each Advent Sunday and 1 more for Christmas Eve. Today there is this beautiful skein in it.

 

Als derde is daar de kalender van Nicole C. Mendez. Voor elke advent zondag een zelfstrepende streng, net als vorig jaar. Als eerste deze mooie kleur die de naam Christmas Stollen (kerststol) heeft.

De 4e en tevens laatste van de advent zondagen kalenders is die van The Happy Kiwi Stitchmarkers. Deze advent bevat 4 handgemaakte (polymeer) steekmarkeerders en een bonus steekmarkeerder. De steekmarkeerders hebben een kerstthema en het thema van dit jaar is: t'was the night before Christmas. Vandaag zat er deze mooie kerstboom in.

Nu nog een paar dagen wachten voor het 1 december is en de andere kalenders geopend mogen worden. Ik heb er dit jaar minder gekocht en toch lijkt het of ik er weer heel veel heb, maar dat komt omdat sommige van een swap zijn of gekregen. Zelf kocht ik er 2 met mini strengen en 2 met quiltstofjes, daarnaast de Peter Rabbit met houten figuurtjes, de DM bio en 4 met thee (kleinere doosjes met kruiden theesoorten). Uiteraard ook 1 voor Mees.

Now we have to wait a few more days before it is December 1 and the other calendars can be opened. I have bought less this year and yet it seems that I have a lot again, but that is because some of them have been given or have been swapped. I myself bought 2 with mini skeins and 2 with quilting fabrics, the one with wooden Peter Rabbit figures, the DM organic food and 4 with tea (smaller boxes with herbal teas). And of course also 1 for Mees.

 

Zo kreeg ik van de week van mijn petekind deze Mr. Holmes Advent Calendar. Een kalender met 24 zelfoplossende kerstmisdaden. Hoe leuk is dat. Ga ik gezellig 's avonds met Michiel doen als we onze thee drinken van de tweepersoons theekalender.

This week I also got this Mr. Holmes Advent Calendar from my Godchild. A calendar of 24 self-solving Christmas crimes. How nice is that. I'm going to have fun every evening solving the mysteries with Michiel when we drink our tea from the two-person tea calendar.

 

Afgelopen woensdagmiddag kwam ook de laatste adventkalender binnen, die van Patch and Stich. Dit zijn 24 x 1/4 FQ en ze zaten dit keer in een super leuke grijze vilten mand.

Last Wednesday afternoon the last advent calendar arrived, that from Patch and Stich. These are 24 x 1/4 FQ and they came in a super cute gray felt basket this time.

 

Ook heb ik deel 4 uitgelezen van de Valerie Lane serie. In 2 avonden had ik ook dit mooie boek van Manuela Inusa uit, ze schrijft enorm leuk.

I also finished part 4 of the Valerie Lane series. In 2 evenings I read this beautiful book by Manuela Inusa, she writes very nicely.

 

Met deze mooie bol die ik voor mijn verjaardag kreeg van een vriendin, ga ik vanaf 1 december de Yuletide sokken van Kay Jones breien. Elke 2 dagen een nieuw stukje breien. Dit patroon is al uit 2019 maar ik was toen net begonnen met sokken breien en vond deze nog te moeilijk.

With this beautiful ball that I got for my birthday from a friend, I will be knitting the Yuletide socks from Kay Jones from December 1st. Knit a new section every 2 days. This pattern is from 2019, but I had just started knitting socks and found it too difficult.

 

Christmas Cookies socks

 Het was begin november dat ik mijn laatste bericht schreef en nu is het al bijna het einde van de maand. Waar blijven de dagen? Ik heb zelfs in die tijd een paar sokken gebreid, de Christmas Cookies sokken.

It was the beginning of November that I wrote my last post and now it's almost the end of the month. Where are the days? I even knitted a pair of socks during that time, the Christmas Cookies socks.

Ik begon op 13 november en gisteren waren ze af. Het patroon is de Village Fete sokken van Kay Jones, ik heb het patroontje van de voorkant ook op de achterkant gebreid. Het garen is uit de Christmas box 2021 van Nicole C. Mendez en heet Christmas Cookies.

I started them on November 13 and they were finished yesterday. The pattern is Kay Jones' Village Fete socks, I also knitted the pattern from the front on the back. The yarn is from Nicole C. Mendez's Christmas box 2021 and is called Christmas Cookies.

Op 11 november moest ik weer een MRI laten maken in het ziekenhuis in Maastricht, de eerste na mijn operatie van 5 augustus. Op 2 december krijg ik hiervan de uitslag. Van te voren gingen we even naar kleindochter Yara want die had cupcakes gebakken met haar moeder en ze waren toch lekker.

On November 11, I had to have another MRI made at the hospital in Maastricht, the first one after my operation on August 5. I will receive the results on December 2. Beforehand we went to granddaughter Yara because she had baked cupcakes with her mother and they were delicious.

In mijn vorige bericht schreef ik al dat die dag de advent kalender van The Happy Kiwi Stitchmarkers zou binnen komen en inderdaad werd die 's middags gebracht. Deze is voor de advent zondagen.

In my previous post I already wrote that the advent calendar of The Happy Kiwi Stitchmarkers would arrive that day and indeed it was delivered in the afternoon. This one is for Advent Sundays.

Een paar dagen erna kwamen ook de kalender binnen van Rosy Garn (5x een volle streng), ik heb gekozen voor de Neon kalender.

en de kalender van Atelier Sopra (6x sokkenset), gemaakt op mijn verzoek. Ook deze beide kalenders zijn voor de advent zondagen.

Daarna werd ik verrast door een internet vriendin met deze Stoffige wollige advent kalender die ze zelf heeft samengesteld. Ik had haar, een paar dagen ervoor, ook al een wollige thee advent kalender gestuurd. Dit lijkt dus ook wel op een swap.

Then I was surprised by an internet friend with this Fabric woolly advent calendar that she put together herself. I had also sent her a woolly tea advent calendar a few days before. This also looks like a swap.

De kalender van de Dutch Advent Swap is inmiddels ook binnen, ik ben super benieuwd.

Nu is het alleen nog wachten op de quiltstofjes kalender van Patch and Stitch maar die komt, als het goed is, vanmiddag binnen. En dan de Quadrophenia deken. Inmiddels heb ik alle 4 de driehoeken af en op 2 ervan heb ik al de 2e kleur gebreid.

Now all we have to do is wait for the Patch and Stitch quilt fabric calendar, but it should arrive this afternoon. And then the Quadrophenia blanket. In the meantime I have finished all 4 triangles and on 2 of them I have already knitted the 2nd color.

Toen we vorige week sint en kerstcadeautjes waren kopen voor de kleinkinderen, kwam ik ineens Harry Potter tegen. Die kocht ik voor mezelf en die staat inmiddels op mijn hobbykamer.

When we were buying St Nikolaas and Christmas presents for the grandchildren last week, I suddenly came across Harry Potter. I bought that for myself and it is now standing in my craft room.

Verder kwamen er ook nog een paar strengen binnen van The Woolly Chicken, haar kerstkleuren.

Op 1 december begin ik weer met mijn dagelijkse advent berichtjes, maar op 27 november is de eerste advent zondag en dus mogen de Advent zondagen kalenders open.

On December 1, I will start my daily Advent messages again, but on November 27, it is the first Advent Sunday, so the Advent Sundays calendars are allowed to open.
