Day 20 Advent Calendars

Vandaag zijn de dames van het quiltgroepje op bezoek geweest, dus mijn berichtje staat iets later op mijn blog.

Today the ladies of my quiltclub came to visit, so I post my message a bit later today.

Dag 20 / Day 20 

Chocolaatjes (Chocotime and Merci). De spreuk die vandaag bij het Merci chocolaatje staat is: Jij bent de sprankeling die me de hele dag omringt.

Tea from Sonnentor. De smaak van vandaag is "Hildegard's sterke wil" (groene haver, blackberry bladeren, gember, brandnetel, venkel, galangal, Griekse bergtee).
Dag 20: Kleed je warm aan, neem een kopje thee en draai de verwarming een beetje terug. Of laat de auto eens gewoon staan en ga te voet. Dan geven we het milieu ook een beetje rust.

Day 20: Dress warmly, take a cup of tea and turn the heating back a bit. Or just leave the car and go on foot. Then we also give the environment a bit of rest.

Bollekeswol geeft geen kleurnamen. Ik noem deze vandaag Forest en hiermee ga ik vandaag deel 20 breien van de ADVENTurous wrap van Ambah O'Brien. Deel 19 zie je aan het einde van deze post.

Bollekeswol didn't gave names to the mini skeins. The skein of today I call Forest and I will start knitting part 20 of the ADVENTurous wrap from Ambah O'Brien today. Part 19 you see at the end of this blogpost.

Opal geeft haar mini bolletjes van 15 gram (63 meter) ook geen namen, maar er staat  wel telkens een leuke afbeelding op het bandje. Vandaag is het de kerstman met zijn vriendje de sneeuwman.

Opal also doesn't give her mini skeins of 15 grams (63 meter) names, but every label has a cute picture. Today it is santa with his friend the snowman.

Alice Yarn geeft ook geen kleurnamen, maar ze stopt wel elke dag een lief briefje in het pakketje. Vandaag zat er een Roze sponge cake stitch marker van Chapel View Crafts en zakje Haribo bij.

Alice Yarn also doesn't give her mini skeins names, but she includes a lovely letter each day in the package. She also included today a Pink sponge cake stitch marker from Chapel View Crafts and  a Haribo sweet.

Down Sheep Lane kleur van vandaag is Cranberry crush.  Haar kleurnamen zijn zo leuk. Die van vandaag betekent: Verpletterde cranberry's. Het garen heeft een zilveren stellina.

Colorway Down Sheepy Lane of today is Cranberry crush. The yarn has a silver stellina.

Gisteren deze Holly Jolly, de 8e van de Country Cottage Ornament serie van Country Cottage Needleworks afgewerkt. 

Yesterday I finished Holly Jolly the 8th of the Country Cottage Ornaments series. 

De kerstslinger in de boom heb ik niet geborduurd, maar in plaats daarvan heb ik kralen gebruikt.

The Christmas garland in the tree I did not stitched, but I used beads instead.

2017 Online Advent Calendar

Welcome to day 16 of  the 2017 Online Advent Calendar hosted by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching (click).

I have stitch many Christmas ornaments, mostly by Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks, but when you ask which ornament is your favorite, I don't have to think twice. That is Seasons greetings from Little House Needleworks. I think I like it so much because of the colors. For me red and green are the real Christmas colors ;-)

Jo ask us if we could answer this question: How do you plan to spend Boxing Day?  Do you have any traditions associated with this day?

In the Netherlands we don't speak of Boxing day, we call it Second Christmas day, so we have two holidays the 25th and 26th. Most of the time we celebrate this second day with family, just as the first Christmas day. In the afternoon we do all kind of board games and after that we eat together. Often when the weather is good, we go for a walk after dinner.

Ik doe mee met de blog hop van Jo van Serendipitous Stitching (klik). We moeten dan op de dag die we aangewezen kregen (ik had vandaag), een kerst borduurwerkje laten zien.
Ik koos voor mijn favoriete ornament van Little House Needleworks, Seasons greetings. Verder kregen we de vraag hoe wij Boxing day doorbrengen, oftewel tweede kerstdag.

Later vandaag post ik een nieuw bericht met de inhoud van mijn advent kalenders.

Day 11 Advent Calendars

Vandaag geen update van mijn ADVENTurous wrap, want die ga ik vanmiddag pas breien, omdat we gisteren zo laat thuis waren.

Today no update of the ADVENTurous wrap, because yesterday we were back late from visiting friends and I'm going to knit it this afternoon.

Dag 11 / Day 11

Tea from Sonnentor. De smaak van vandaag is "Aangename vrije tijd" (bramenblaadjes, citroengras, citroenmelisse, lindebloesem, korenbloemen, goudsbloemen, rozenblaadjes).
Dag 11: Laat je door de muze kussen en maak je kerstdecoraties dit jaar zelf. Van zoutdeeg, bijenwas, gedroogde sinaasappelen, kaneelstokjes en er worden veel meer unieke en duurzame kerstbomen gemaakt.

Day 11: Let yourself be kissed by the muse and make Christmas decorations this year. From salt dough, beeswax, dried oranges, cinnamon sticks and many more unique and sustainable Christmas trees are made.

Down Sheep Lane kleur van vandaag is Baa Humbug.  Haar kleurnamen zijn zo leuk. Scrooge's slogan, "Bah! Humbug!" wordt vaak gebruikt om afschuw uit te drukken met veel van de moderne kersttradities.

Colorway Down Sheepy Lane of today is Baa Humbug. Scrooge's catchphrase, "Bah! Humbug!" is often used to express disgust with many of the modern Christmas traditions.

Vandaag dus geen update van de advent wrap, maar ik laat dan gewoon iets anders zien. Dit is de Santa's Village serie van Country Cottage Needleworks die ik enkele jaren geleden heb geborduurd. Ze staan op de vensterbank.

Today no update from the advent wrap, but I will show you something different. These are the Santa's Village series from Country Cottage Needleworks which I stitched a few years back. They are on the window sill too.

Gingerbread Girl and Peppermint Tree

Ik ben nog steeds druk bezig met mijn andere (geheime) project, dus ik kan momenteel niet veel laten zien. Wel zijn er tussendoor steeds een paar kruissteekjes gezet en het 2e deel van de Gingerbread Village is klaar. Dit is Gingerbread Girl and Peppermint Tree.

I'm still very busy with my other (secret) project, so I can't show much. In between there were made some cross stitches and the second part of the Gingerbread Village is ready. It is Gingerbread Girl and Peppermint Tree.

Gingerbread Train

Gingerbread Village (klik) is een nieuwe 11-delige serie van Country Cottage Needleworks, waarvan inmiddels 3 delen uitgekomen zijn. Hoog tijd om het eerste deel af te borduren. De snoepjes button ligt er nog los op, die zet ik pas vast als alle delen geborduurd zijn.

Gingerbread Village (click) is a new 11 part series by Country Cottage Needleworks,  from which already 3 parts are released. High time to finish my first part. The candy button is still loose, I attach it when all parts are stitched.

Gisteren kwam er al een gedeelte van mijn maandelijkse bestelling uit Amerika. Annie van Crazy Annie's Stitchin' (klik) had er een mok bij gedaan, een cadeautje van haar voor mij. Op de mok staat een mooie sampler afgebeeld met de tekst: Baby its cold outside. Nu zal mijn koffie nog beter smaken in zo'n mooie mok ;-)

Yesterday a part of my monthly order arrived from the USA. Annie from Crazy Annie's Stitchin' (click) had included a mug, a present from her to me. On the mug is printed a beautiful sampler with the text: Baby its cold outside. Now my coffee will taste even better ;-)

More Christmas decorations

De kerstboom (klik) en de kersthuisjes (klik) heb ik al laten zien, maar er zijn natuurlijk meer kersthoekjes in huis. Tenslotte moet ik ergens mijn kerstborduurtjes neer zetten ;-)
In de keuken hangt aan het rekje Gingerbread Trio van LHN, bovenop staan de 2 stenen kerst beeldjes die eens van mijn moeder waren.

The christmas tree (click) and the christmas houses (click) I already showed, but there are more christmas corners in our house. I have to put somewhere my christmas ornaments ;-)
In the kitchen is hanging Gingerbread Trio from LHN, on top of the rack there are the two christmas figurines which once belong to my mother. 

Achter in de woonkamer. Op het antiek nachtkastje staat de sneeuwpop met het borduurwerk Snowbirds van CCN en de beer houdt Silent Night, een freebie van Barbara Ana Designs, vast.

In the back of the living room. On the antique nightstand is the snowman with the pattern Snowbirds from CCN and the bear is holding Silent Night, a freebie from Barbara Ana Designs.

Op de eetkamertafel vinden we Season's Geetings van LHN met ernaast de skiënde kerstman, die nog van mijn moeder is geweest.

On the dining table we find Season's Greeting from LHN and next to it there is the santa on skies, which once belong to my mother.

Op de kamerkast staat de kerstengel met het piepkleine borduurwerkje Cozy Inn van LHN, dat nog geen 5 x 5 cm is, omdat ik het borduurde op 40 ct linnen. Dit patroon vindt je in de JCS Christmas Ornaments 2013.

On the living room cabinet stands the christmas angel which holds the tiny embroidery Cozy Inn from LHN, it not even 2" x 2", because I stitched it on 40 ct. linen. The pattern you can find in the JCS Christmas Ornaments 2013.

Boven de kerstengel staat op de kamerkast het borduurwerk Vintage Christmas van CCN. Dit is een van de dingen die als eerste staat te pronken in de kamer, omdat ik het zo geweldig mooi vind. Ernaast een gingerbread popje gemaakt door een lieve vriendin.

Above the angel on the cabinet is standing Vintage Christmas from CCN. This is one of the things I put up first with the holidays, because I so much love this one. On the right is a gingerbread, made by a very good friend.

Dan kom ik bij het ladenkastje met de vele laatjes. De perfecte plaats voor de 2 kerstkonijnen die ik vorig cadeau kreeg van een lieve vriendin, ik vind ze TE GEK ! Erbij staat het borduurwerkje I Love My Home, waarvan ik de tekst veranderde in Christmas 2014. Dit is een threadpack van Classic Colorworks en LHN.

Then we come to the dresser with his many drawers. The perfect place for the 2 christmas bunnies that were given as a present by a very good friend, I think they are awesome. Against the candle is I Love My Home, of which I changed the text into Christmas 2014. It was a thread pack from Classic Colorworks and LHN.

Op de bank liggen weer de kussens met The Twelve Days of Christmas van The Little Stitcher. Vergeten een foto te maken, dus we nemen die van vorig jaar ;-) 

On the couch are the pillows with The Twelve Days of Christmas from The Little Stitcher. I forgot to take a picture, so this one is from last year ;-)

We gaan verder naar de salontafel waar een dienblad staat met daarop het borduurwerkje Spot of Christmas, dit was ook een threadpack van Classic Colorworks en LHN.

We move on to the coffee table. There we see a tray with the ornament Spot of Christmas, again a thread pack from Classic Colorworks and LHN. 

Voor het raam in de voorkamer staat Santa's Village mooi te wezen.

On the windowsill in the front of the living room we find Santa's Village.

We gaan door naar de gang. Op de haltafel vinden we een mandje met gingerbread borduurtjes. Dit zijn Gingerbread Tree (LHN) en Season of Love (CCN) uit de JCS Christmas Ornaments preview 2010, de 3e is Gingerbread Girl van Helga Mandl. Erbij weer gingerbread popjes gemaakt door een lieve vriendin.

In de boom hangen de Fairy Advent Calendar ornamentjes van The Little Stitcher met ernaast de gebreide kerstmuis, patroon van Alan Dart, en daarachter de kerst muziekdoos van mijn moeder.

We go further into the hallway. On the table there we see a basket with gingerbread pillows. These are Gingerbread Tree (LHN) and Season of Love (CCN) from the JCS Christmas Ornaments preview 2010, the 3th is Gingerbread Girl from Helga Mandl. In the basket also some gingerbreads made by a good friend.

In the little tree are hanging the fairy Advent Calendar ornaments from The Little Stitcher. Next to it my knitted christmas mouse, pattern by Alan Dart, and the music box that once was from my mother.

Zijn we nu klaar? Neehoor, we lopen door naar het toilet, want ook die is in kerstsfeer. Hier staan de borduurwerkjes van The Little Stitcher bij elkaar; The Little Match Girl, Magic Christmas Eve en Red Christmas. Het gingerbreadpopje in de kerstlaars is weer gemaakt door een lieve vriendin.

Are we ready? Not at all, we go now to the toilet, because there is also a Christmas atmosphere. Here we see the embroideries from The Little Stitcher, standing all together;  The Little Match Girl, Magic Christmas Eve and red Christmas. The gingerbread in the sock is again made by a very good friend.

Tot slot nog de kersthanger met gingerbread stitcheries, dit waren 2 freebies van Michelle Ridgeway.

Finaly we see a christmas hanging with gingerbread stitcheries, these were freebies by Michelle Ridgeway.

Winter

De eerste winterbuien zijn ons land binnen geslopen en buiten merk je dat het kouder en kouder wordt. De winter is in aantocht.

Het borduurwerk uit de Seasonal Celebrations serie (klik) van Country Cottage Needleworks, genaamd Winter, is klaar en hangt inmiddels aan de muur. Afgewerkt met een stofje van Red Rooster en een klein beetje met de hand doorgequilt.

The first winter showers have arrived in our country and outside you feel it is colder and colder. Winter is coming.

The cross stitch piece from the Seasonal Celebrations series (click) by Country Cottage Needleworks, called Winter, is ready and is hanging on the wall. I finished it with a fabric from Red Rooster and did a bit of hand quilting.

Afgelopen zaterdag kwam ook het nieuwe patroon binnen van Janine Alers. Ik was er meteen weg van toen ik het zag, het doet me zo aan de Australische quilts denken waar ik dol op ben.

Last saturday the new pattern from Janine Alers arrived. I liked it right away when I saw it, because it reminds me of the Australian quilts which I love so much.

Bowy is het weekend ook goed doorgekomen, hij bracht zijn tijd hoofdzakelijk door op de bank.

Bowy enjoyed the weekend, he spend a lot of time on the couch.

Working on ...

Ik ben nog steeds bezig met de Gingerbread Train, maar borduur ondertussen ook aan dit mooie patroon van Country Cottage Needleworks. Het heet Winter en ik vind de kleuren geweldig. I hoop het af te hebben later deze week.

I'm still working on the Gingerbread Train, but I'm also stitching on this wonderful piece of Country Cottage Needleworks. It is called Winter and I realy love the colors. I hope to finish it later this week. 

By the Chimney

Door alle bijwerkingen van de zalf, gaat momenteel alles wat langzamer merk ik. Toch is er weer een ornamentje afgekomen. By the Chimney is het 7e ornamentje van Country Cottage Needleworks

With all the side affects of the ointment, everything is going a bit slower I notice. But I manage to finish an ornament. By the Chimney is the 7th ornament from Country Cottage Needleworks.

Ik heb alles geborduurd volgens het patroon, het enige dat ik anders heb gedaan is de bovenkant van de sokjes te borduren met Wisper draad, zodat die iets hariger geworden zijn.

I stitched everything according to the pattern, the only thing I did different is stitching the top of the socks with Wisper thread, so they look a bit hairy.

Tussendoor ben ik ook begonnen met het eerste deel uit de Gingerbread Village van Country Cottage Needleworks, dit is Gingerbread Train. De needle minder met mijn naam erop is een cadeau van Crazy Annie Stitchin' (klik) waar ik een auto shipment heb lopen voor deze serie. Ze gaf iedereen die zich hiervoor had aangemeld dit leuk presentje.

In between I'm also stitching a bit on the first part of the Gingerbread Village from Country Cottage Needleworks, called Gingerbread Train. The personalized needle minder was a present from Crazy Annie Stitchin' (click) where I signed up for the auto shipment on this series. She gave this to everyone who had signed up. I love it.
