Dinsdagmiddag hadden we een afscheid lunch met mijn dochter Lindy die gisteren naar Engeland vloog om zich daar te vestigen. Ze gaat samen wonen met haar Engelse vriend. Lin we gaan je zeker missen, maar gelukkig hebben we skype en dan vliegen we maar wat vaker op en neer 😀.
Tuesday afternoon we had a farewell lunch with my daughter Lindy who flew to England yesterday to settle there. She is going to live together with her English boyfriend. Lin we are going to miss you, but fortunately we have skype and we fly up and down more often to England 😀

Toen we dinsdagmiddag naar binnen gingen om te lunchen was het buiten grijs en toen we buiten kwamen was alles wit. Bowy vind sneeuw ook geweldig.
When we went inside for the lunch it was gray outside and when we came back outside everything was white. Bowy loves snow too.
De laatste tijd begon het toch te kriebelen, ik wilde zo graag weer eens iets borduren. Gewoon even kijken of het nu beter zou gaan. Tenslotte gaat het quilten inmiddels ook weer goed.
Er werden volop Ariadnes doorgespit, omdat ik wist dat in een ervan een lap met taartjes moest staan en die leek me wel leuk om te maken voor in de keuken.

Lately it started to itch, I wanted to try cross stitch again. Just to see if I could do it again. Because quilting is now also going well again.
There were plenty of Ariadne's to search through (Ariadne is a Dutch magazine with lots of crafts in it, I had a subscription from 1980 up to 1995), because I knew that in one of them there was a piece with all kind of cakes on it and I wanted to stitch that one for the kitchen.

Er werd een stuk linnen gepakt (Zweigart Belfast 12,6 draads) en alle kleurtjes DMC werden bij elkaar gezocht.
I took a piece of linen (Zweigart 32 Count Belfast Linen) and all the colors of DMC were sought together.
Dinsdagavond begon ik met de eerste steekjes. Ik heb wel het patroon extra vergroot, want ik merk dat anders alle symbolen door elkaar gaan lopen.
On Tuesday evening I started with the first stitches. I have enlarged the pattern extra, because I notice that otherwise all the symbols started to mix together.
Het borduren ging best wel goed. Ik moet wat vaker op het patroon kijken, maar voor de rest had ik niet echt moeilijkheden. Het eerste taartje, de Charlotte au Chocolat is af.
The cross stitch went pretty good. I have to look at the pattern a bit more often, but for the rest I did not really have any problems. The first cake, the Charlotte au Chocolat is finished.
