Linen stitch table runner

De tafelloper, gehaakt in de linnen stitch met 4 bollen Scheepjes Our Tribe is klaar.

The table runner, crocheted in the linen stitch with 4 balls Scheepjes Our Tribe is ready.

Hij is ongeveer 240 cm lang en past mooi op de tafel in de winkel van Tante Tuttebol.

It is about 240 cm long and fits nicely on the table in Tante_Tuttebol's store.

Er staat nu nog best veel op de tafel, maar inmiddels is hij flink opgeruimd. De kleuren die gebruikt zijn, zijn 967, 988, 978 en 972.

There is still quite a lot on the table, but it has now been cleaned up considerably. The colors used are 967, 988, 978 and 972.

Met de restanten heb ik een mini sokje gebreid voor aan de sokken waslijn die hangt in Tante Tuttebol's winkel.  

With the leftovers I knitted a mini sock for the socks washing line that hangs in Tante Tuttebol's shop.

En ik ben meteen doorgegaan met kleur 11293 Saloon uit de nieuwe serie Country van Opal. Ik brei de Crunkled socks van Kay Jones.

And I immediately continued with color 11293 Saloon from the new Country series by Opal. I'm knitting the Crunkled socks by Kay Jones.

Ik kocht 6 van de 8 kleuren.

I bought 6 of the 8 colors.

De gele en rode bol had ik al, die zaten in maart 2022 in de Opal Abo.

I already had the yellow and red color, which were in the Opal Abo in March 2022.

 

RainBOOM wrap

Deze sjaal is enorm leuk om te haken, dat komt natuurlijk ook door al die vrolijke kleurtjes.

This scarf is great fun to crochet, that is also due to all those cheerful colors.

Yarn: Stone Washed and River Washed from Scheepjes

(58 different colors, too many to write down)
(78% cotton - 22% acrylic)
Mini ball is 10 gr. (26 m/28.4 yards)

Used 36 mini balls Stone Washed = 360 grams = 936 m/1023 yards

 and 22 mini balls River Washed = 220 grams = 572 m/625 yards

De RainBOOM sjaal is gehaakt met een colourpack van Scheepjes (klik). Er zitten 58 mini bolletjes in, waarvan 36 Stone Washed en 22 River Washed. Ik kocht mijn doos bij Brei en Allerlei (klik).

The RainBOOM shawl is crocheted with a colourpack from Scheepjes (click). Inside are 58 mini balls, whereof 38 Stone Washed and 22 River Washed. I bought my box at a Dutch shop called Brei en Allerlei.

De samenstelling van het garen is 78% Katoen en 22% acryl en het is heerlijk zacht. 

The composition of the yarn is 78% cotton and 22% acrylic and it is very soft.

Elk mini bolletje is 10 gram en 26 meter. Van de meeste bolletjes hou je iets over en die gebruik je voor de franjes. 

Each mini ball is 10 gram and 26 meter. From most balls you have a left over and those you use for the fringes. 

De sjaal is gehaakt met haaknaald 4.5 mm  en hij is 200 x 50 cm. Het patroon ziet er misschien moeilijk uit, maar in werkelijkheid is het best een makkelijk patroon om te haken.

The scarf is crocheted with crochet hook 4.5 mm and it's 200 x 50 cm. Although the pattern looks maybe a bit different, it is really a easy pattern to crochet.

Op een gegeven moment moet je de 2 driehoeken samennaaien, op de foto kun je zien hoe ik dit gedaan heb.

At one point you have to sew the 2 triangles, on the photo you can see how I did this.

Second triangle and a second opinion

Afgelopen vrijdag zou ik aan mijn tweede driehoek beginnen van de RainBoom sjaal. Maar het liep een beetje anders. Mijn petekind kwam ook met haar haakwerk en natuurlijk moesten onze driehoeken samen op de foto.

Last Friday I would start my second triangle of the RainBoom scarf. But it went a little different. My godchild also came with her crochet wrap and of course our triangles had to be photographed together.

De bolletjes die nog over waren lagen al klaar, maar we gingen ook skypen met mijn dochter die nu in Engeland woont en dat hebben we best lang gedaan. Daardoor werd er die dag niet meer gehaakt 😀

The balls that were left were ready to go, but we also skype with my daughter who now lives in England and we did that quite a long time. As a result, we didn't crocheted anything that day 😀

 

Zaterdagavond had ik eindelijk tijd om een begin te maken. 

On Saturday evening I finally had time to make a start.

Terwijl het zondag buiten regende, zat ik heerlijk met mijn haakwerk op schoot en de ene toer na de andere werd gehaakt. Vlak voor ik naar bed ging, was de tweede driehoek af.

While it was raining outside on Sunday, I was sitting with my crocheted on my lap and one round after another was being crocheted. Just before I went to bed, the second triangle was finished.

En dan nog even een update over mijn traject bij de longarts.
Vrijdagavond belde de longarts, zij had met de andere longartsen overleg gehad, omdat ik met de weekkuur prednisolon geen baat heb gehad. Ze kwamen allemaal tot de conclusie dat ze er niet aan uit komen waarom ik last blijf houden van mijn kortademigheid. Mijn longarts stelt nu voor dat er een totaal nieuwe longarts met een frisse blik naar gaat kijken, een soort van Second Opinion.

And then an update about my trajectory at the pulmonary doctor.
On Friday evening the pulmonologist called, she had consulted with the other pulmonologists, because I had no benefit from the week course prednisolone. They all came to the conclusion that they can not figure out why I continue to suffer from my shortness of breath. My lung doctor now proposes that I go to a totally new lung doctor, a kind of Second Opinion, so he can look at it with a fresh look.  

Ze kent een longarts die hoog aangeschreven staat en die in het Maastricht UMC werkt. Ze hebben hele goede ervaringen met hem en al verschillende patiënten van hier zijn er goed geholpen met dezelfde klachten. De aanvraag naar Maastricht stuurt ze vandaag of morgen de deur uit. Dus het is nu wachten op wanneer ik daarvan een oproep krijg. Ik ben heel blij met dit voorstel van mijn eigen longarts.

She knows a pulmonologist who is highly regarded and who works in the Maastricht UMC (academic hospital). They have very good experiences with him and already several patients from here are well helped with the same symptoms. She sends the application to Maastricht today or tomorrow. So it is now waiting for when I get a call. I am very pleased with this proposal from my own lung doctor.

RainBoom wrap

Zal ik of zal ik niet? Dat was de vraag toen ik de RainBoom wrap (klik) zag, een gratis patroon dat zou starten op 1 februari. Ik vond hem te mooi om hem niet te maken, dus op zaterdag naar Brei en Allerlei (klik) om de doos te halen die nodig was voor deze sjaal.

Shall I or shall I not? That was the question when I saw the RainBoom wrap (click), a free pattern that would start on February 1st. I thought it was too beautiful not to make it, so on Saturday we went to Brei and Allerlei (click) to get the box that was needed for this scarf.

Er zitten 36 bolletjes Stonewashed en 22 bolletjes Riverwashed van 10 gram in.

Included are 36 balls of Stonewashed and 22 balls of Riverwashed of 10 grams, all from Scheepjes.

Zaterdagavond begon ik dit mooie patroon te haken. Het garen is heerlijk zacht en doordat je steeds van kleur wisselt, gaat het best wel snel.

On Saturday evening I started to crochet this wonderful pattern. The yarn is very soft and because you always change colors, it goes pretty quickly.

Het patroon bestaat uit het haken van 2 driehoeken die met een tussenstuk aan elkaar gemaakt worden. Zondag had ik de eerste driehoek af 😍

You must crochet 2 triangles that are made together with a spacer. I finished the first triangle on Sunday 😍

Laatst januari kreeg ik ook een nieuw leesboek binnen. Ik had zoveel goede dingen over dit boek gehoord, maar vergat het steeds te bestellen. Gelukkig had Yvonne van Rijn er nog op voorraad.

Just received my new book from a Dutch writer. It about quilting and her quilt trips.

Ook kwam mijn boek binnen van Susan Smith, er staan zoveel mooie quilts en hun patronen in. Voorlopig kijk ik er alleen in, want ik heb nog genoeg quilts liggen die eerst af moeten.

I also received my book of Susan Smith, inside are so many beautiful quilts and their patterns. For now I only look at them, because I have to many quilts that i need to finish first.

Lots to tell ...

Vandaag er maar eens voor gaan zitten, want het is bijna 4 weken geleden dat ik een blogje schreef. Ik heb zeker niet stil gezeten :-) Twee jaar geleden maakte ik de Vibrant Vintage deken van Cypress Textiles in allerlei tinten roze en ik genoot van al die verschillende patronen.

It is almost 4 weeks ago that I wrote my last post, so today it is time to write a new one. I have done a lot in the mean time ;-) Two years ago I made the Vibrant Vintage blanket from Cypress Textiles in all kinds of shades of pink and I enjoyed all those different patterns.

Twee weken geleden is ze begonnen met een nieuwe (gratis) deken, de Vibrant Vintage 2018. Ik wilde sterk zijn en er niet aan beginnen, maar gisteren legde ik bij Brei & Allerlei (klik) alle benodigde Scheepjes softfun bij elkaar en tja ... ik was verkocht :D Ik ga voor het kleuren palet Warm Neutrals. Op haar webiste (klik) vind je alle informatie. In het mandje zie je de eerste 12 kleuren, de lichte ecru kleur voor border zit daar niet bij.

 Two weeks ago she started with a new (free) blanket, the Vibrant Vintage 2018. I wanted to be strong and not start it, but yesterday I put all the necessary Scheepjes softfun together at Brei & Allerlei and well ... I was sold :D I go for the Warm Neutrals color palette. You can find all the information on her website (click). In the basket you see the first 12 colors, the light ecru color for border is not in the basket.

De eerste 2 weken stonden al online en de andere 3 kwamen elke vrijdag erna. Inmiddels dus al 5 weken grannies gehaakt. Vandaag komt week 6 online.

The first 2 weeks were already online and the other 3 weeks followed each friday. So I already have crocheted the first 5 weeks. Today week 6 will go online.

Bij Quiltshop Vlijtig Liesje kun je elke week een nieuw patroondeel krijgen voor de Scrappy Dogs quilt. Het enige wat je hoeft te doen is je in te schrijven voor haar nieuwsbrief. Zij heeft onder haar dekentjes steeds een Basset hond liggen, maar omdat ik altijd Jack Russels heb, heb ik deze jongen getekend ;-) Dit is week 1 van de Scrappy Dogs quilt.

She has a Basset hound under each blanket, but because I always have Jack Russels, I have drawn this little guy ;-) This is week 1 of the Scrappy Dog quilt.

Op 23 juni gingen we naar The Log Cabin (klik) en ik bracht stofjes mee voor de "a day at the park" quilt van Susan Smith. Het was weer een super gezellige dag om ook vriendin Marianne daar te treffen.

On june 23 I bought the fabrics for the "a day at the park" from Susan Smith at quiltshop The Log Cabin (click). We had a wonderful time and it was so nice to meet friend Marianne again.

 

Ik werk altijd aan meerdere quilts tegelijk, dus ik had geen excuus nodig om ook deze te starten. Ik kocht dit patroon als een online magazine bij Homespun, issue 17.3 (maart 2016). De patroondelen zelf staan weer op hun website.

25 juni was een feestdag, want dochter Lindy slaagde voor haar diploma Verpleegkundige GGZ. Het waren 2 zware jaren om naast haar werk als Verzorgende IG deze studie nog eens te doen, maar ze hebt het toch maar gedaan ! We zijn zo trots op haar !

June 25 was a happy day, because daughter Lindy passed her diploma in Nursing Mental health care. It was two tough years to do this study next to her work as a caring individual health care, but she did it anyway ! We are so proud of her !

Op 27 juni deden wij een dagje Monchengladbach en we bezochten ook Atelyeah (klik), een prachtige winkel met exclusieve garens. Het was moeilijk om een keus te maken, maar ik heb gekozen voor deze 2 strengen van Swans Island.

Yesterday we did a day at Monchengladbach and we also visited Atelyeah (click), a beautiful shop with exclusive yarns. It was difficult to make a choice, but I chose these 2 strands from Swans Island.

Inmiddels ben ik begonnen aan een mooie sjaal, hier alvast een beginnetje ;-)

Op 15 juni zijn we met Bowy naar de dierenarts geweest en hij heeft daar een implantaat. Deze implantaat zorgt ervoor dat hij een chemische castratie krijgt en die werkt voor ruim een half jaar. Dit moest gebeuren omdat Bowy perianaalkliertumoren had, deze tumoren ontstaan onder invloed van mannelijke geslachtshormonen. Het zijn vrijwel altijd goedaardige tumoren die vooral ontstaan bij oudere niet-gecastreerde reuen. Je hebt de keuze om ze operatief te laten verwijderen of door middel van een implantaat die je dan wel elke keer moet herhalen als hij uitgewerkt is. Bowy wordt morgen 13 dus ik wilde liever niet dat hij onder narcose ging.

On June 15 we went to the vet with Bowy and he got an implant. This implant ensures that he gets a chemical castration and that works for more than half a year. This had to happen because Bowy had perianal gland tumors, these tumors arise under the influence of male sex hormones. They are almost always benign tumors that mainly occur in older, non-castrated males. You have the choice to have them removed bymorrow, so I did not want him to go under anesthesia.

Shawl of Secrets

Foto's gemaakt van mijn Shawl of Secrets, wat een heerlijke sjaal om te maken en te dragen, hij is zo zacht.  Het garen is van Scheepjes en heet Secret Garden, de kleuren staan onder de eerste foto vermeld. 

I made pictures of my Shawl of Secrets, a real joy to wear and to knit, it is so soft. The yarn is from Scheepjes and it's called Secret Garden, the colors are written under the first picture.

Elke bol is 50 gram (93 m.) en ik heb 7 bollen gebruikt (651 m.)

De sjaal is gebreid op naalden 4.5 en hij is 180 x 80 cm.

The shawl is knitted on needles 4.5 (US 7) and it is 180 x 80 cm.

Deze sjaal was echt een genot om te breien.
