Bellrose

Mijn eerste sjaal van de Strickmich Club van Martina Behm (klik) is klaar. Het was een genot om deze te breien en ik ga hem zeker nog een keer maken.

My first scarf from the Strickmich Club from Martina Behm (click) is finished. It was a great joy to knit this one and I know for sure I will knit it again.

Bellrose - Martina Behm

Nature's Luxury - Sheep and Soie (color Remembering Rose)

70% wool, 30% silk 

Skein is 100 gr. (500 m) - Used 93 gr. (465 m)

Circular needle 4 mm (US 6)

Het patroon heet Bellrose en zal ergens in augustus te koop zijn op Ravelry. Patronen van de Strickmich Club zijn namelijk pas na 6 maanden te koop, als ze uitgekomen zijn.

The pattern is called Bellrose and it will be for sale on Ravelry somewhere in August. Patterns from the Strickmich Club are the first 6 months only for members.

De sjaal is gebreid met het garen Sheep and Soie van Nature's Luxury in de speciaal daarvoor geverfde kleur Remembering Rose. De wol met zijde is superzacht.

The scarf is knitted with the yarn Sheep and Soie from Nature's Luxury in the special for the club dyed color Remembering Rose. The wool with silk is unbelievable soft.

De streng was 100 gram en er zat 500 meter op. Ik hield 7 gram (35 m.) over. De sjaal is gebreid op rondbreinaald nr 4 en hij is 180 cm x 35 cm.

The skein was 100 gram and had 500 meter on it. My left over was 7 gram (35 m). The scarf is knitted on circular needle 4 mm (US 6) and it is 180 cm x 35 cm.

De Strickmich Club leden krijgen 4x per jaar een pakje thuis met een nieuw patroon en speciaal daarvoor geverfd garen. Er zitten ook steeds 4 glaskralen bij in de kleuren van de Strickmich Club; blauw, groen, geel en rood. Deze kun je dan in de laatste toer van je sjaal meebreien.

Members of the Strickmich Club get 4 times a year a package with a new pattern and special for the club dyed yarn. There are also every time 4 glass beads included in the colors of the Strickmich Club; blue, green, yellow and red. You can add them in your last row of your scarf.

Ik blijf de patronen van Martina Behm geweldig vinden, ze zijn eenvoudig en toch hebben ze altijd weer een hele aparte vorm. Ik ben dan ook super benieuwd wat er in ons volgend pakje zit, dat ergens in mei bezorgd gaat worden.

I so much love the patterns of Martina Behm, because they are simple to make and yet they have such a different shape each time. I can't wait to see the contents of our next package, that will be delivered somewhere in may.

Fractal Danger

Er werd in januari in het diepste geheim ook nog een sjaal gebreid. De sjaal was  bestemd voor mijn zus die afgelopen week jarig was. Gisteren kon ik hem dan eindelijk aan haar geven en ze was er heel blij mee.

In January I also knitted a scarf in secret. The scarf was for my sister who had her birthday last week. Yesterday I gave it to her and she is very happy with it.

Fractal Danger - Martina Behm

Alegria - Manos del Uruguay (kleur Wedgwood)

75% superwash merino,  25% poliamide

Streng was 100 gr. (425 m.)

De sjaal is gebreid van Alegria van Manos del Uruguay, in de kleur Wedgwood. Een super zachte merino wol die ik kocht bij Yarnz (klik).

The scarf is knitted with Alegria from Manos del Uruguay, in the color Wedgwood. It is a very soft merino wool that I bought at Yarnz (click).

Het patroon is Fractal Danger en is van Martina Behm. Het is te koop op Ravelry (klik). Ik ben dol op haar patronen, ze zijn eenvoudig en toch hebben ze altijd weer een hele aparte vorm.

Mijn streng was 100 gram en er zat 425 meter op. De sjaal is gebreid met naald 3.5 en hij is 155 x 20 cm.

My skein was 100 gram and had 425 meter (445 yards). The scarf is knit with needle 3.5 mm (US 5) and the size is 155 x 20 cm.

  

 

The Sampler Lady

Dit is een borduurwerk dat al heel lang lag te wachten om afgemaakt te worden. Van de week heb ik dit maar eens gedaan en nu kan ik het gaan inlijsten. The Sampler Lady is een patroon uit 2007 van Little House Needleworks en ik vind het erg mooi. Raar dat het dan zolang duurde om die laatste steekjes te maken.

This piece was lying around for a long time to finish, but I did it this week and now I can frame it. The Sampler Lady is a pattern from 2007 from Little House Needleworks. I realy like this piece and I can't believe why it took me so long to finish it.

Ik gebruikte iets andere kleuren dan die op het patroon vermeld staan, omdat ik zo'n beetje dezelfde kleuren wilde gebruiken als ik gedaan heb met Home of a Needlworker (too!). Ze komen tenslotte bij elkaar te hangen in de hal.

I changed some of the colors, because I wanted to use almost the same colors as I used on Home of a Needleworker (too!). I'm going to hang them together in the hallway.

Aan het eind van de week is het ook weer tijd voor mijn maandelijkse Give Away, misschien zie ik je dan terug ;-)

Season of Hope

Na het borduren van het konijn uit het vorige bericht, had ik zin om nog een paar voorjaars werkjes te borduren. Ik begon met Season of Hope, dat is er een uit de 4-delige serie van Seasonal pillows (seizoenen kussens) van Little House Needleworks.

After stitching the rabbit from last post, I wanted to stitch more spring things. So I began with Season of Hope, one of a four part series of Seasonal pillows by Little House Needleworks.

Season of Hope - Little House Needleworks

Fabric: Edinburgh 36 ct. linen, color Sand (322)

Threads: Nina's Threads (Burgundy, Cigar, Grizzly, Hunter, Monstergreen, Caramel) and DMC (3052, 3740, 3781, 3861)

Het patroon wordt eigenlijk helemaal in DMC geborduurd, maar ik heb sommige kleuren vervangen door hand geverfde garens van Nina's Threads (klik). Onder bovenstaande foto zie je de kleuren staan die ik gebruikt heb.

The pattern is called for DMC threads, but I replaced some of them by hand-dyed threads from Nina's Threads (click). Under the picture above you can read the colors I used.

Dan ben ik ook nog druk geweest met het borduren van het kalender meisje maart van Little House Needleworks, maar deze moet ik nog afwerken.

I also been busy with stitching the Calendar girl March from Little House Needleworks, but I still have to finish it off.

 Het is niet allemaal lente wat ik aan het borduren ben ;-) Ik ben ook begonnen met het eerste ornamentje uit  The Sampler Tree serie van Little House Needleworks. Maar daarover meer als ik het afgewerkt heb.

It is not all spring that I stitch ;-) I also started the first ornament of The Sampler Tree series by Little House Needleworks. But more about that when I have finished it off.

En ben ik nu uit geborduurd? Neehoor, ... ik wil met deze serie beginnen.

Am I done with stitching? Not at all, ... I want to start with this series.

Het zijn 4 threadpacks, dat betekend dat bij het patroon ook het hand geverfde garen zit. Het is een seizoenen serie die de Saltbox Scripture series heet en ze zijn van (hoe kan het ook anders) Little House Needleworks.

These are 4 threadpacks, what means that beside the pattern there is also the hand-dyed threads included. It's a seasonal series and its called the Saltbox Scripture series by Little House Needleworks.

De eerste waarmee ik vandaag begin is Blessed are the Pure in Heart, die voor de lente staat.

Today I start with the first one and that is Blessed are the Pure in Heart, who  represents spring.

Last day of 2013

En dan zijn we aangekomen op de laatste dag van 2013, weer een jaar dat vol zat met verrassingen, hele leuke en soms wat minder leuke, maar al met al geen slecht jaar. Ik ben benieuwd wat 2014 voor ons in petto heeft en welke dingen we weer op ons pad mogen begroeten.

Gistermiddag heb ik heerlijk zitten borduren en de laatste steek aan Magic Christmas Eve was gemaakt voor het avondeten. 

And now we arrived at the last day of 2013, a year full of surprises, very good ones but also less good ones. All with all not a bad year. I'm curious what 2014 has in store for us and what kind of things we see on our path.

Yesterday afternoon I spend my time on cross stitching and before diner I put in the last stitch on Magic Christmas Eve.

Gisteravond, onder het kijken van de spannende halve finale WK Darten, heb ik dit borduurwerk meteen afgewerkt in een grotere pinkeep. Hij krijgt een mooi plekje op de kast.

Yesterday evening, when I was watching the semi final WK Darts, I turned it into a larger pinkeep. It gets a nice place on the closet in our living room.

Magic Christmas Eve - The Little Stitcher

Fabric: 28 ct. tea-dyed evenweave

Threads: Nina's Threads (Chilli, Bark), Gentle Art (Dark Chocolate, Maple Syrup), Crescent Colors (Brown Sugar), DMC (B5200, 3371, 938, 3012)

Gewoon simpel afgewerkt met rondom touw en 2 roestige klokjes. Het patroon Magic Christmas Eve is van The Little Stitcher (klik).

Just simple finished with a string all around and two rusty bells. The pattern Magic Christmas Eve is from The Little Stitcher (click).

Magic Christmas Eve - update three

Wat was het een spannende dart wedstrijd gisteravond op tv, een Nederlander in de halve finale. Dat wordt vanavond ook zeker weer kijken ;-)

Het bovenste gedeelte van Magic Christmas Eve is inmiddels af, de groen versiering met kerstballen is opgehangen en het is beginnen te sneeuwen.

It was such an exciting dart game yesterday on tv, a Dutch man is in the half final. I'm going to watch tonights game, see how he is doing :-)

The top part of Magic Christmas Eve is done, the green decoration is hanging with the christmas balls and it is starting to snow.

Magic Christmas Eve - update two

Gisteravond onder het kijken naar WK Darten op tv, heb ik ervoor gezorgd dat de dieren samen kwamen bij het rode huis. Ze komen natuurlijk op de geur af die vanuit het huis komt, want er wordt van alles gebakken, van appeltaart tot kerstkoekjes ;-)

Yesterday evening when I was watching the World Championship Darts on tv, I manage to stitch all the animals that are coming to the red house. They come because from the house comes a wonderful smell, the smell of apple pie and christmas cookies ;-)

Magic Christmas Eve - update one

De dag voor kerst kwam The Little Stitcher met nog een nieuw patroon dat Magic Christmas Eve heet en dat ook weer zo leuk is. Tijdens de kerstdagen heb ik niet veel gedaan maar gisteren kreeg ik het rode huisje af dat in het midden van het patroon staat.

The day before Christmas The Little Stitcher came again with a new pattern, called Magic Christmas Eve and I realy like it. During the holidays I didn't do much but yesterday I finished the red house that is in the middle of the pattern.

Ik heb wel enkele kleuren omgezet in handgeverfd garen, dus het wordt ietsjes anders van kleur als op het patroon. Zo is het rood van het huis geborduurd met Nina's Threads in de kleur Chilli. Hier zie je een plaatje van hoe het borduurwerk gaat worden ...

I changed a few colors into hand-dyed threads, so mine will a bit different then the originel. The red of the house I stitched with Nina's Threads in the color Chilli. Here a picture of how it will look when it is finished ...

Little Bluebird

Simone van Atelier Soed-Idee schreef afgelopen week over de handgegeverfde garens van Valdani die ze in haar webshop gaat verkopen en toen ik de mooie blauw/grijze kleur: Primitive Blue zag, wist ik meteen wat ik daarmee wilde borduren. De Little Bluebird van The Little Stitcher, afgewerkt met het nodige kantje/bandje, knoopjes en vogelkooi charm past dit mooi bij de andere voorjaars kussentjes die ik heb.

Simone from Atelier Soed-Idee wrote last week about some hand-dyed threads from Valdani she is going to sell in her web-shop and when I saw that lovely blue/grey color I knew what I wanted to stitch with that one. The  Little Bluebird from The Little Stitcher, finished with the necessary lace/ribbon, buttons and bird case charm this fits perfectly with my other spring little pillows.

De patronen waar ik op aan het wachten was, zijn ook aangekomen. Van LHN kwam het 2e schaapje van de virtues serie, het 1e huisje van de hometown holiday serie en haar nieuwe patroon met een quilt thema: Orchard Valley Quilting Bee ... deze vind ik zo leuk !! Verder kwam ook van CCN het 4e kersthuisje van Santa's Village, dat is nu de kerstvrouw koekjeswinkel. Ik kan dus weer volop vooruit met borduren :-)

The patterns that I was waiting for also arrived. From LHN I got the second sheep of the virtues series, the first house of the hometown holiday series and her new pattern with a quilt theme: Orchard Valley Quilting Bee ... I love this one !! From CCN I got the fourth christmashouse from the Santa's Village, now its Mrs. Claus Cookie Shop. I can go further with stitching them :-)

Zoals de meeste wel weten, werk ik heel graag met handgeverfde garens. Dus toen The Little Stitcher een leuke freebie op haar blog had staan, kwam de doos met Nina's Threads weer tevoorschijn. Het is altijd weer een feest om hier iets uit te nemen, het lijkt wel een bonbondoos :-) De freebie Give Love is geborduurd met de kleuren Rose Sand en Dark Chocolate.

Werken met Nina's Threads is erg leuk, maar nog leuker is het om je voorraad aan te vullen met haar nieuwste kleuren. Naast borduurgaren had ze ook kant en zigzagband geverfd dus daar bestelde ik ook wat van. Van de week kwam de bestelling binnen en de kleuren zijn weer prachtig. Uiteraard heeft ze nog veel meer op haar site staan.

Working with Nina's Threads is always a joy, but another thing I like is to make your stash bigger with her new colors. Besides threads she also dyed lace and ricrac, so I ordered that also. This week came my order and the colors are beautiful as always. On her site she has many more colors to see.

Wat ook binnen kwam, was een grote hoeveelheid Weeks Dye Works garen. Ik had nog een kadobon liggen om te bestellen in een Amerikaanse winkel, die ik ontvangen had voor het maken van 2 borduurwerken in opdracht van een ontwerpster uit Amerika. Helaas hadden ze daar geen Crescent Colours, dus koos ik voor Weeks Dye Works.

Another thing that arrived was a large amount of Weeks Dye Works threads. I still had a gift certificate for spending in an American shop, that I recieved from a American designer for doing some modelstitching for her. They hadn't Crescent Colours so I choose Weeks Dye Works threads.

Herbal Spells

Herbal Spells is een patroon van The Little Stitcher en hoewel het niet in haar etsy-shop te koop staat, is het nog gewoon te bestellen bij haar. Dit was weer een erg leuk patroon om te maken en ik heb het afgewerkt tot een klein tasje waar ik een bosje lavender in heb gedaan.

Herbal Spells is a pattern from The Little Stitcher and although it is not in her etsy-shop, it is still for sale if you write her. This was again a lovely pattern to make and I made it into a little bag where I put some lavender in.

Gingertea and Cookies finished

Er werd druk gequilt aan de gingertea, een freebie van Michelle Ridgway, die nog altijd te vinden is op haar blog. En als je toch daar bent, kijk dan eens naar haar andere ontzettend leuke patronen :-)

De gingertea freebie paste geweldig bij de ginger cookies, een freebie die ik bij mijn bestelling van de Christmas Bakeshop kreeg en ook deze werd goed doorgequilt.

The gingertea freebie fits perfectly with the ginger cookies, a freebie I recieved with my order of the Christmas Bakeshop and this one I also have been quilting.

De stitcheries zijn gedaan met garen van House of Embroidery in de kleur A78 - Salvia dat o.a. te verkrijgen is bij The Log Cabin.

The stitcheries are done with thread from House of Embroidery in the color A78 - Salvia which can be bought at The Log Cabin.

Na het doorquilten heb ik er een afwerkbies omgedaan en ophanglusjes en nu .... hangt hij inmiddels in de kamer en ik ben zeer tevreden over het resultaat.

After the quilting I attached the binding and now .... its hangs in my sittingroom and I love how it turned out.

Het gingerbreadpopje in de kerstsok was een cadeautje van Elly en haar zus Cindy en die wilde maar al te graag bij de Gingertea and Cookies hangen. Tja, ... wie kan nu nee zeggen tegen een gingerbread, ik niet !

The gingerbread in his christmassock was a gift from Elly and her sister Cindy and it wanted to hang with the Gingertea and Cookies. Well, ... who can say no to a gingerbread, I can't !
