Pippi Langkous vriendenswap (door mij gemaakt), het garen is Opal - 11205 regenwald 18 en Yogi tea. Voor de 24e dag had ik er een streng van Therese Notenboom bij gedaan voor ons beide.

Het boek The Christmas murder game by Alexandra Benedict krijg ik niet uit gelezen voor kerst, dus wie de moordenaar is zal ik pas te weten komen na kerst.
Maar het is wel een prachtig boek en daarom heb ik al het volgende boek van haar Murder on the Christmas Express in huis. Of ik het meteen ga lezen als ik dat ander uit heb of bewaar voor de volgende kerst, dat weet ik nog niet.

I can't finish reading the book The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict before Christmas, so I won't find out who the murderer is until after Christmas.
But it is a beautiful book and that is why I already have her next book Murder on the Christmas Express. I don't know yet whether I will read it immediately when I finish the other one or save it for next Christmas.

Ook de laatste 6 kaarsjes uitgepakt van de Yankee candle adventskalender 2022.

 Na de kerstdagen maak ik weer overzichts foto's van alle advent kalenders, wat zat er toch weer veel moois in. Ik heb genoten van elke kalender, hoe verschillend ze ook waren. Voor een paar heb ik al een idee wat ik ermee wil gaan maken. Met die van Crealien Design de Go Go throw van Ambah O'Brien en met de de prachtige wolletjes van The Woolly Chicken ga ik de Snowy Pines wrap van Yarnia Designs breien.
Maar eerst de notenkraker sokken van Kay Jones afbreien de komende dagen.

 After Christmas I will take overview photos of all the Advent calendars again, there were so many beautiful things in them. I enjoyed each calendar, no matter how different they were. I already have an idea of ​​what I want to make with some of them. I am going to knit the Go Go throw from Ambah O'Brien with the Crealien yarn and the Snowy Pines wrap from Yarnia Designs with and the yarn from The Woolly Chicken.
But first knit Kay Jones' nutcracker socks in the coming days.

Advent day 19

 De medicatie is goed aangeslagen en de infectie is bijna weg. Ik moet het alleen nog een paar dagen rustig aan doen van de huisarts. Nu wachten tot 28 december en ik mijn ijzerinfuus krijg en hopelijk knap ik hier ook van op, maar dat wordt dan verder in janauri onderzocht. Voor nu blij dat de longontsteking achter de rug is.

The medication has worked well and the infection is almost gone. The doctor told me to take it easy for a few more days. Now we have to wait until December 28th and I will get my iron infusion and hopefully I will recover from this, but that will then be further investigated in January. For now, I'm glad the pneumonia is behind me.

Advent day 15

 Huisarts belde gisteren laat in de middag terug, dat ze in overleg met de internist toch een ijzer infuus wil laten geven in het ziekenhuis, omdat de ijzertabletten te langzaam het ijzergehalte aan zullen vullen bij mij nu het zo laag is. Ook wil ze dat ik maandagmiddag bij haar terug kom zodat ze kan nakijken hoe het met de longontsteking is en of de medicatie aanslaat.
Vanmorgen belde het ziekenhuis al dat ik 28 december terecht kan voor het ijzerinfuus en op 11 januari kan ik bij de internist terecht. Ze zien dan ook of het ijzerinfuus zijn werk heeft gedaan.

My GP called back late yesterday afternoon to say that, in consultation with the internist, she would like to have an iron infusion given at the hospital, because the iron tablets will take too long to replenish my iron levels now that they are so low. She also wants me to come back to her on Monday afternoon so that she can check how the pneumonia is doing and whether the medication is working.
This morning the hospital called that I can go for the iron infusion on December 28 and I can see the internist on January 11. They then also see whether the iron infusion has done its job.

Mijn kerst traditie heb ik overgenomen van mijn moeder die in 2001 plotseling overleed op 65 jarige leeftijd. Zij maakte op kerstavond altijd champion ragout pasteitjes en dat heb ik ook altijd gedaan sinds ik uit huis ging. Jullie weten dan gelijk wat wij vanavond eten. Van te voren gaan we naar de Engels militair begraafplaats in onze woonplaats waar we met heel veel mensen alle lichtjes op de graven aan gaan steken, zodat ze weten dat wij hun niet vergeten zijn.

I took over my Christmas tradition from my mother who died suddenly in 2001 at the age of 65. She used to make mushroom ragout pies on Christmas Eve and I have always done that since I left home. Then you know right away what we're having for dinner tonight. In advance we go to the English military cemetery in our hometown where we light all the lights on the graves with a lot of people, so that they know that we have not forgotten them.

Alle wolletjes van The Whoolly Chicken kalender zijn uitgepakt, dus ik heb de eerste 4 bolletjes  opgedraaid voor de Dust of Snow sjaal zodat ik 4 dagen vooruit kan. Mijn vriendin die dezelfde advent kalender had gaat ook deze sjaal breien.

 The first 4 balls are wind up for the Dust of Snow shawl so that I can go ahead for 4 days. My girlfriend who had the same advent calendar will also knit this shawl.

Direct na kerst plaats ik weer foto's met alle wolletjes en quiltstofjes bij elkaar, dan kun je precies zien wat in een kalender zat.
Vanavond en morgen heb ik nog een paar pakjes uit te pakken, want sommige hadden een pakje voor kerstavond en voor op 25 december.  Morgen hebben we ook feest want dan is Mees jarig.

Deel 11 van de Yuletide sokken zijn de tenen en daarmee zijn de sokken af. Wat een leuk patroon was dit om te breien. Kay Jones ontwierp dit voor haar patreons in 2019.

Part 11 of the Yuletide socks are the toes and that's the end of the socks. What a fun pattern this was to knit. Kay Jones designed this for her patrons in 2019.

Wij gaan dit jaar 2e kerstdag naar onze zoon en zijn gezin, onze dochter met haar gezin komt ook, net als mijn petekind met haar man. Heerlijk gezellig met elkaar, daar draait het om.

We are going to our son and his family on Boxing Day this year, our daughter and her family are also coming, just like my godchild with her husband. Having fun together, that's what it's all about.
