Romantique Sampler finished and a beautiful present

Nu ik nog maar 1 deel hoefde te maken van de Romantique Sampler, leek het wel of het heel snel ging. Dit laatste deel is nu ook klaar.

Now that I only needed to stitch the last part, it looked if it was going realy fast. The last part is now finished.

Nu is hij dan eindelijk, na ruim 2 jaar, helemaal af. Nu nog even op zoek naar een mooie lijst en ik kan hem op gaan hangen.

Now its finally finished, after 2 years. Now I only have to look for a perfect frame.

Dan heb ik ook nog heel leuk nieuws, ... op facebook deed ik mee aan een "like and share" van 't Trendje-Goirle. Je kon er een prachtig houten DMC kabinet mee winnen. Afgelopen zondag werd de winnaar bekend en ik kon het eerst niet geloven, maar laat dat nu mij zijn! Gisteren kwam het kastje binnen en het is zo ontzettend mooi.

Than I have some wonderful news, ... on facebook I participate with a "like and share" from a Dutch shop. The prize was a beautiful wooden DMC cabinet. Last sunday they announce the winner and I couldn't believe it, but it was me ! Yesterday the cabinet came and it is realy so beautiful.

Inmiddels heb ik mijn project Randje per Week er in opgeborgen. Ik ben er nog steeds beduusd van en ook heel erg blij ! Op het wit wat je ziet bovenaan kan een borduurtje bevestigd worden, jullie snappen al wat ik nu aan het maken ben ;-)

I have stored my new project Border each Week in the cabinet. I'm still overwhelmed but also very happy !! On the white what you see, you can attach a cross stitch piece. I think you already know what I'm stitching now ;-)

Romantique Sampler part 16

Door het project Randje per Week kreeg ik zin om mijn Romantique Sampler eens af te maken. Dit was in 2011 een SAL bij Angie. Het patroon is nog steeds te koop bij haar (klik).

Waarom hij zolang is blijven liggen weet ik niet, want ik hoefde nog maar 2 delen te borduren; deel 16 en deel 21. Gisteravond heb ik deel 16 afgekregen en deze week ga ik verder met het allerlaatste deel.

Because of the project Border each Week I decided to take my Romantique Sampler and start to finish that one. It was a SAL by Angie in 2011. The pattern is still to buy with her (click).

Why I left it so long unfinished, I realy don't know because all I had to stitch where 2 parts; part 16 and part 21. Yesterday I finished part 16 and this week I'm going to stitch the final part.

Ook heb ik nog gewerkt aan Garden Path, de tafelloper voor mijn dochter. Gistermiddag had ik alle twee de rijen aan elkaar staan. De maat is nu 180 cm x 30 cm.

I also worked on Garden Path, the table runner for my daughter. Yesterday afternoon I had sewed the two rows together. The size is now 70" x 12"  (180 cm x 30 cm).

Daarna heb ik hem meteen gedubbeld, zodat ik deze week kan beginnen met  doorquilten.

Then I sandwich it, so I can begin with the quilting this week.

Romantique sampler part 18-19-20

Ruim op tijd ben ik klaar met de 3 delen die we deze maand moesten maken. Het is nu wachten op 10 oktober wanneer ik de laatste 2 delen krijg en dan kan hij eindelijk ingelijst worden.

Early enough I finished the 3 parts that we had to stitch this month. Now I must wait till october 10 when we recieve the last 2 parts and then i can frame this sampler.

Zo ziet hij er nu uit, de laatste 2 delen komen linksboven.

Romantique sampler part 15 and 17

Dit keer ben ik ruim op tijd klaar met mijn 2 delen van de Romantique Sampler. Het zijn de delen 15 en 17 die deze maand geborduurd moesten worden.

This time I have stitch fast because they are fnished already. We got part 15 and 17 this time.

Alle delen tot nu toe, nog eventjes en hij kan ingelijst worden.

  All parts till now, only just a few months to go and I can frame it.

Romantique sampler part 13

Zo zie je maar ..., niet opgeven en gewoon doorgaan met elke dag een paar steekjes te borduren en dan komt het toch af. Dit deed ik met het 13e deel van de Romantique sampler en gisteravond maakte ik de laatste kruisjes. Mijn nekproblemen zijn nog niet helemaal over maar het gaat gelukkig al weer iets beter.

See ... if you don't give up and stitch every day a few stitches then you finish something. I did this with the 13th part of the Romantique sampler and last night I did finished it. My neck problems aren't over yet but it is much better now.

Nu ben ik helemaal bij met alle 14 delen van deze sampleren dat is maar goed want volgende week komen er weer 2 nieuwe delen.

Now I have done all the 14 parts and that is a good thing because next week we get the new 2 parts.

Romantique sampler part 9 and 14

Hoewel ik vorige maand maar 1 van de 2 delen af kreeg van de romantique sampler vanwege mijn nekproblemen, stuurde Angie me toch de delen van deze maand. Dat waren de delen 9 en 14 en door steeds elke dag een paar steekjes te maken is het me gelukt om deze af te krijgen.

Although I only finished one of the two parts of the romantique sampler last month because of my neck problems, Angie send me the two parts of this month. This time it was part 9 and 14 and by doing each day a few stitches I have finish these two parts.

Het deel dat ik vorige maand niet af kreeg is deel 13 en daar ga ik nu mee verder. Hopenlijk lukt het me om het voor de 10e van de komende maand af te krijgen zodat ik weer helemaal bij ben. Op de foto hieronder kun je zien hoe de sampler er nu uit ziet en ook deel 13 dat ik dus nog af moet maken.

The part that I didn't finish last month was part 13 and I'm going to stitch on that now. Hopefully I manage to finish this one before the 10th of the coming month. On the photo you can see how the sampler looks now and also part 13 that isn't finished yet.

Romantique sampler part 12

Met het boek uit het vorige logje ben ik halverwege en nog steeds is het een prachtig boek om te lezen. Veel meer anders dan lezen doe ik ook niet omdat ik nog steeds problemen met mijn nek heb en daardoor amper quilt of borduur. 

Toch is het gelukt om het middenstuk van de Romantique sampler (deel 12) af te krijgen, deel 13 gaat niet lukken voor de 10e maar Angie is op de hoogte en ik krijg gewoon mijn volgende delen omdat ik steeds op tijd ben geweest.met de vorige delen. Ik probeer steeds een paar steekjes per dag te maken.

I'm half way with the book from the last post and it is still alot of fun to read. I love it ! I still have troubles with my neck so I don't do much except reading. No quilting and just a few stitches croos stitch each day, that's it.

I manage to finish the middle part of the Romantique sampler (part 12), but part 13 I don't finish in time before the 10th. I wrote Angie about my neck problems and she said that she will sent the next parts anyway because i was in time with all the other parts. So I will stitch each day a few stitches till my neck is better.

Afgelopen donderdag hadden we ook een jarige in huis. Bowy werd 6 jaar en is nu al een hele kerel :-) Als je de foto's bekijkt van toen hij nog een pup was, dan zie je dat zijn haren goed gegroeit zijn.

Last thursday we had a birthday boy in the house. Bowy became 6 years. If you look at the picture then you see how much his hair is grow.

In de tuin staan verschillende bloemen in bloei wat altijd leuke plaatjes opleverd, dus hier 3 foto's die ik vanmiddag heb gemaakt.

In the garden are several flowers in blooming, so I made 3 pictures this afternoon.

Monarda (bee balm, horsemint, oswego tea or bergamot) /  Bergamot

En sinds 2 weken hebben we een nieuwe gast in de tuin, we zagen hem opeens rond huppelen en hij zit er nog steeds. Achter in de tuin verstopt hij zich en soms zie je hem/haar op het gras om het brood op te eten wat we daar neerleggen voor de vogels of eten van de appel die er ligt voor de merel. Ik maakte wat foto's afgelopen woensdag vanuit het huis toen Elma op bezoek was en hem zag.

Since two weeks we have another guest in our garden, we saw him/her suddenly and he's still there. Sometimes he's on the grass to eat from the bread that we put there for the birds or he eats from the apple that lies there for the common blackbird. I made a few pictures from the house last wednesday when I had a visit from my friend Elma.

Romantique sampler part 10 and 11

 De laatste dagen ben ik bezig geweest met het borduren van deel 10 en 11 van de romantique sampler en ze zijn ruim op tijd af voor de 10e van de maand.

The last few days I was busy stitching part 10 and 11 of the romantique sampler and it is finished before the 10th of the month.

Als je goed kijkt naar de gehele lap dan zie je dat deel 9 er niet bij staat en dat komt omdat we dit deel later krijgen omdat het aan de linkerkant geborduurd wordt.

If you look carefully you will see that part 9 is missing and the reason why is that we get that part 9 later because it's going to be stitch on the left site.

Romantique sampler part 7 and 8

Eindelijk heb ik mijn 2 delen van de Romantique Sampler af. Het bleek meer werk te zijn als ik dacht, maar gelukkig heb ik het toch afgekregen voor de 10e van de maand.

Finally I have stitched my two parts of the Romantique Sampler. It was more work then I thought, but I managed to finish it before the 10th of the month.

Romantique sampler part 5 and 6

Eindelijk ben ik van de griep af, het bleef maar door sudderen en wat kun je je dan belabberd voelen. Ik heb in die dagen ook niets anders gedaan dan op de bank gehangen en wat films bekeken, o.a. van Jane Austen. Verder heb ik ook 2 boeken uitgelezen; The trouble with Magic van Madelyn Alt en De overgave van Arthur Japin, wat is dit laatste boek toch mooi.

Het enige wat ik op handwerkgebied heb gedaan is deel 5 en 6 borduren van de Romantique Sampler, dit keer een behoorlijk stuk om te maken.

Finaly the flu is gone. I have done nothing else in those days then hanging on the couch and watch some movies on tv, mostly films of Jane Austen. Furthermore I have read 2 books; The trouble with Magic from Madelyn Alt  and De overgave (surrender) from Arthur Japin,  this last book is so beautiful but I don't know if it is translate in English. Its about a pioneer family in the west (Texas 1836) which is going to live in the area of the Comanche indians.

The only thing I have done while I was sick, is stitching part 5 and 6 of the Romantique Sampler, this time it was a considerable piece to stitch.

Verder zijn we op 17 maart wel naar Dordrecht geweest omdat dochter Lindy daar haar diploma uitreiking had. Nu is ze dan eindelijk in het bezit van het speldje wat bij haar functie hoort.

Furthermore we went to Dordrecht on March 17 because daughter Lindy got her diploma. Now she has her pin that belongs to her function at work.

Romantique sampler part 3 and 4

Ongeveer 10 dagen geleden kregen we deel 3 en 4 toegestuurd van de Romantique sampler. Ik vertelde in mijn vorige logje al dat ik niet veel geborduurd had, maar deze 2 delen heb ik toch afgekregen.

About ten days ago we get part 3 and 4 of the Romantique sampler. I told in my previous post that I didn't do much cross stitching but I managed to finish these 2 parts.

Door het kiezen van 5 roomwitte kleuren dichtbij elkaar is de overgang van kleuren heel subtiel, maar ik ben nog steeds tevreden met mijn kleurgebruik. Zo ziet de sampler er nu uit met alle 4 de delen.

By choosing 5 creamy colors very close in the color scheme  the change of colors is very subtle, but I am still satisfied with my colors. Here's a picture of the sampler  with all 4 parts.
