Update March

 Begin maart ben ik ook bij de mdl arts geweest voor de uitslag van de gastroscopie. Er werd gezocht naar een oorzaak waarom ik zo'n groot ijzertekort had. Het blijkt dat ik vooraan in de dunne darm een oppervlakkig bloedvaatje heb wat af en toe gaat bloeden. Voor nu is er niets mee gedaan maar ik moet nu elke 4 maanden op controle komen. Ze houden het voor nu in de gaten en als het ijzergehalte weer gaat dalen en dan krijg ik opnieuw een gastroscopie en coloscopie. Ze kijken dan of ik meer oppervlakkige bloedvaatjes heb verder in de darm en zoja dan krijg ik een operatie die ervoor gaat zorgen dat de bloedvaatjes niet meer kunnen gaan bloeden.
Op 6 maart werd ook onze jongste kleindochter Loïs 3 jaar.

At the beginning of March I also went to the gastroenterologist for the results of the gastroscopy. A cause was sought as to why I had such a severe iron deficiency. It turns out that I have a superficial blood vessel at the front of the small intestine that bleeds occasionally. For now nothing has been done about it, but I now have to have a check-up every 4 months. They will keep an eye on it for now and if the iron levels start to drop again, I will have another gastroscopy and colonoscopy. They then check whether I have more superficial blood vessels further in the intestine and if so, I will have an operation that will ensure that the blood vessels can no longer bleed.
On March 6, our youngest granddaughter Loïs also turned 3 years old.

Ze vierde haar verjaardag een paar dagen later dus er werd nog hard gewerkt aan de poppen quiltjes

She celebrated her birthday a few days later and I was still working hard on the doll quilts

en aan de jelly roll poppendekentjes,

and the jelly roll doll blankets,

maar op 10 maart toen we haar gingen feliciteren was de paarse set voor haar af.

but on March 10, when we went to congratulate her, the purple set was finished for her.

Voor grote zus Lana maakte ik de roze versie.

I made the pink version for big sister Lana.

Op 15 maart kwam ook een nieuw patroon van Kay Jones, de Spring Shorty socks. Ik gebruikte garen van The Woolly Chicken in de kleur Cottage Garden.

A new pattern from Kay Jones, the Spring Shorty socks, was also released on March 15. I used yarn from The Woolly Chicken in the color Cottage Garden.

6 dagen later had ik de sokken klaar, ze vlogen van de naald af.

6 days later I had the socks ready, they flew off the needle.

Ook kwam in maart de 1e zending van mijn Opal abonnement van 2024 (4x per jaar 6 bollen) binnen en wat zijn de kleuren weer prachtig.

Also the 1st shipment of my Opal subscription of 2024 (6 balls 4 times a year) arrived in March and the colors are beautiful again.

Ook werd er gebreid aan de 2e scrappy sok die ik maak met Opal mini bolletjes van 10 gram. Inmiddels is deze 2e sok ook af maar ik moet nog foto's daarvan maken.

The second scrappy sock that I make with Opal mini balls of 10 grams was also knitted. This 2nd sock is now also finished, but I still have to take pictures of it.

Op 26 maart gaven we alweer de laatste  les van de workshop Sokken breien op de rondbreinaald bij Tante Tuttebol
De dames hadden heel hard gewerkt en toen de les af was kon iedereen zijn sok showen.

On March 26 we gave the last lesson of the Sock knitting on Circular Needle workshop at Tante Tuttebol.
The ladies had worked very hard and when the lesson was finished everyone could show off their sock.

Het derde boek voor de Reading Corner cowl is One for the blackbird, one for the crow van Olivia Hawker. Het boek is alleen in het Engels te koop.
Kay verteld een klein beetje over een stukje in het boek en noemt daarbij het fruit, de paarse lucht en het groen van de lente. Ik moest meteen denken aan de kleur Cottage Garden dat ik gebruikte voor de Spring Shorty socks en dus gebruikte ik dit om het 3e deel te breien van de col.

Update februari

 3 maanden zijn er voorbij gegaan zonder ook maar een bericht te schrijven, het lijkt wel alsof de dagen weg vliegen. Ik zal maar snel een samenvatting geven van de maand februari.
We begonnen begin februari met de Valenscarf, een Valenvent patroon voor hun patrons georganiseerd door Kay Jones. Enorm leuk om te breien met 14 mini's en een contrastkleur.
Ik gebruik strengen uit de Doctor Who adventskalender 2021 van Het Wolbeest. De contrastkleur is 801 Boticelli Red van Malabrigo.

3 months have gone by without writing a single post, it seems like the days are flying away. I'll just quickly give a summary of the month of February.
The Valenscarf, a Valenvent pattern for their patrons organized by Kay Jones. Very fun to knit with 14 minis and a contrast color.
I use skeins from the Doctor Who advent calendar 2021 from @het_wolbeest. The contrast color is 801 Boticelli Red from malabrigo.

Tussen al het breien door ben ik ook bezig geweest met sterren te maken voor mijn Pippi Langkous sterren quilt. Het einde is in zicht.

In between all the knitting, I am also been busy making stars for my Pippi Longstocking star quilt. The end is in sight.

Het tweede boek voor de Reading Corner cowl is De geest van Danielle Steel. Het is al een wat ouder boek, maar wat een geweldig verhaal.
In het boek worden kleuren genoemd die in het huis voorkomen, zoals creme, geel, grijs, blauw en perzikkleur. Ik had nog een mooie streng in voorraad waar deze kleuren in zaten.

The second book for the Reading Corner cowl is The Ghost by Danielle Steel. It is an older book, but what a great story. The book mentions colors that occur in the house, such as cream, yellow, gray, blue and peach. I still had a nice skein in stock that contained these colors.

Ook waren er poppendekens in de maak voor een bijna jarige kleindochter en haar zus.
Eerst een gehaakte dekentje, daarna een quiltje en een gebreid dekentje voor de 2 dames.
Ik maak een roze en een paarse set.

There were also doll blankets in the making for an almost birthday granddaughter and her sister.
First a crocheted blanket, then a quilt and a knitted blanket for the 2 ladies.
I'm making a pink and a purple set.

De gehaakte poppendekentjes waren als eerste af. Daarna waren de poppenquiltjes aan de beurt.

The crocheted doll blankets were first finished. Next up are the doll quilts.

Dinsdagavond gaven we de eerste les van de workshop Sokken breien op de rondbreinaald bij tante tuttebol. Voor mijn vriendin en mij is dit nu de derde keer dat we de workshop geven.
Er werd weer hard gewerkt en wat vonden ze de opzet moeilijk, maar uiteindelijk slaagde iedereen erin. Daarna leren omgaan met de rondbreinaald maar dat hadden de meeste ook vrij snel door. Nu thuis de boord afbreien en het been.

Tuesday evening we gave the first lesson of the Sock knitting on the Circular Needle workshop at tante tuttebol. For my friend and me, this is now the third time we have given the workshop.
They worked hard again and they found the setup difficult, but in the end everyone succeeded. Then they learned to use the circular needle, but most of them figured that out pretty quickly. Now they can knit the cuff and the leg at home.

Ik zal zo snel mogelijk een update over maart en april schrijven. Ook heb ik de boekenlijst aan de rechterkant bijgewerkt.
