Christmas Tree Farm

Achter de schermen wordt er ook steeds hard gewerkt aan de kersthuisjes van Country Cottage Needleworks en de 7e is alweer af: Christmas Tree Farm. Boven het middelste raam zie je het hartje knoopje dat ik erop vast zet, als ik ze ga afwerken.

Ik heb even nagedacht over wat ik precies op de linnenband ga borduren die op het houten DMC kastje bevestigd wordt. Aangezien mijn favoriete designer Little House Needleworks is, ging ik even kijken tussen alle patronen die ik van haar heb en kwam uit bij Colonial Homes. 

Na even uittellen bleek dat ik de bovenste rand met 2 huisjes precies op de band kan borduren, dus daar ben ik nu mee aan de slag gegaan.

I have thought about what to stitch on the linen band that can be attached to the wooden DMC cabinet. Because Little House Needleworks is my favorite designer, I looked through all mu patterns and I came across Colonial Homes.

After counting the linen band, I saw that I can stitch the top row with the two houses, so that is what i'm going to do.

Al enige tijd was ik op zoek naar een grote tas die ik mee kan nemen als ik ergens naar toe ga en waar ik mijn quilt- of borduurspullen in kan doen. Nu zag ik enige tijd geleden dat er van Jennifer Chiaverini ook een tas was uitgebracht met daarop blokken van de Loyal Union Sampler, gemaakt van 100% recycled water flessen. 

Dit vond ik wel leuk omdat ik voor haar toen ook 2 blokken heb gemaakt die in het boek staan. Ik heb hem meteen besteld bij Bookdepository en inmiddels is die binnen. Bovenop een mooie rits zodat je hem ook dicht kunt doen en er kan heel veel in !

Since awhile I was looking for a big tote that I can take with me when I need something for my quilt or stitching things. I saw the Elm Creek Quilts Eco Tote from Jennifer Chiaverini and I like the quiltblocks on it, its made from 100%  recycled water bottles.

I liked it because I made two blocks for Jennifer when she was working on it and that quilt is in the book. I ordered it right away by Bookdepository and I recieved it last week. n top is a zipper so you can close the bag and you can many things in it, its big !

Romantique Sampler finished and a beautiful present

Nu ik nog maar 1 deel hoefde te maken van de Romantique Sampler, leek het wel of het heel snel ging. Dit laatste deel is nu ook klaar.

Now that I only needed to stitch the last part, it looked if it was going realy fast. The last part is now finished.

Nu is hij dan eindelijk, na ruim 2 jaar, helemaal af. Nu nog even op zoek naar een mooie lijst en ik kan hem op gaan hangen.

Now its finally finished, after 2 years. Now I only have to look for a perfect frame.

Dan heb ik ook nog heel leuk nieuws, ... op facebook deed ik mee aan een "like and share" van 't Trendje-Goirle. Je kon er een prachtig houten DMC kabinet mee winnen. Afgelopen zondag werd de winnaar bekend en ik kon het eerst niet geloven, maar laat dat nu mij zijn! Gisteren kwam het kastje binnen en het is zo ontzettend mooi.

Than I have some wonderful news, ... on facebook I participate with a "like and share" from a Dutch shop. The prize was a beautiful wooden DMC cabinet. Last sunday they announce the winner and I couldn't believe it, but it was me ! Yesterday the cabinet came and it is realy so beautiful.

Inmiddels heb ik mijn project Randje per Week er in opgeborgen. Ik ben er nog steeds beduusd van en ook heel erg blij ! Op het wit wat je ziet bovenaan kan een borduurtje bevestigd worden, jullie snappen al wat ik nu aan het maken ben ;-)

I have stored my new project Border each Week in the cabinet. I'm still overwhelmed but also very happy !! On the white what you see, you can attach a cross stitch piece. I think you already know what I'm stitching now ;-)

Romantique Sampler part 16

Door het project Randje per Week kreeg ik zin om mijn Romantique Sampler eens af te maken. Dit was in 2011 een SAL bij Angie. Het patroon is nog steeds te koop bij haar (klik).

Waarom hij zolang is blijven liggen weet ik niet, want ik hoefde nog maar 2 delen te borduren; deel 16 en deel 21. Gisteravond heb ik deel 16 afgekregen en deze week ga ik verder met het allerlaatste deel.

Because of the project Border each Week I decided to take my Romantique Sampler and start to finish that one. It was a SAL by Angie in 2011. The pattern is still to buy with her (click).

Why I left it so long unfinished, I realy don't know because all I had to stitch where 2 parts; part 16 and part 21. Yesterday I finished part 16 and this week I'm going to stitch the final part.

Ook heb ik nog gewerkt aan Garden Path, de tafelloper voor mijn dochter. Gistermiddag had ik alle twee de rijen aan elkaar staan. De maat is nu 180 cm x 30 cm.

I also worked on Garden Path, the table runner for my daughter. Yesterday afternoon I had sewed the two rows together. The size is now 70" x 12"  (180 cm x 30 cm).

Daarna heb ik hem meteen gedubbeld, zodat ik deze week kan beginnen met  doorquilten.

Then I sandwich it, so I can begin with the quilting this week.

Border each Week

Vandaag is er gestart met het Randje per Week (klik), een idee van Simone en Annelies. Inmiddels gaan er meer dan 500 borduursters meedoen.

Ik vond het idee ook meteen leuk, maar om nu een band van 2 meter te borduren en die opgerold weg te leggen, dat trok mij weer niet. In plaats van linnenband ga ik nu op gewoon linnen borduren die ik later ga afwerken met quiltstofjes zodat ik een tafelloper krijg.

Today is the start of Border each Week (click), an idea of Simone and Annelies. There are more then 500 stitchers that will join.

I liked the idea right away but to stitch a roll of 2 meter and then put it away, that I didn't liked. So instead of stitching it on a linen band I'm going to stitch it on regular linen, that when it is finished, I'm going to sew around some quilt fabric so I get a table runner.

Er is ook een facebook groep (klik) opgestart om je vorderingen te laten zien. Zoals ik al zei ga ik het borduren op naturel linnen (12 draads) en ik ga de 5 creme/ivoor kleuren gebruiken die ik ook voor de Romantique Sampler heb gebruikt, die je hier op de foto ziet. De nummers zijn: DMC 712, 822, 3033, 3865 en 3866.

As I said I'm going to stitch it on naturel linen (32 count) and I'm going to use the 5 creme/ivory colors that I also used on the Romantique Sampler, that you can see in the picture. Afgelopen nacht om 12 uur verscheen het eerste patroon, met daarop 3 randjes, die inmiddels geborduurd zijn. Er wordt begonnen met eenvoudige randjes omdat dit vroeger ook gebeurde met schoollapjes. Nu is het weer 1 week wachten voor de volgende komt.

Last night at 12 AM (European Time) the first pattern, with 3 borders, was published on the blog and I have stitched it already. They start with easy borders because in the past, schoolgirls began also with easy ones. Now I have to wait 1 week for the next installment.

Ook ben ik aan de slag gegaan met de stofjes die ik laatst gekocht heb bij De Quiltsteek. Ik ga daarvan een tafelloper maken voor mijn dochter Lindy. De eerste quiltblokjes van de Garden Path (Tuinpad) zijn inmiddels gemaakt.

I also started with the fabrics I bought at De Quiltsteek a few weeks back. I'm going to make a tablerunner for my daughter Lindy. The first quiltblocks for the Garden Path are made.

Books read in 2013

Aan de rechterzijkant heb ik altijd een lijst staan met daarin de boeken die ik in dat jaar gelezen heb. Die lijst plaats ik nu hier, zodat ik de lijst leeg kan maken en er de boeken in kan zetten die ik dit jaar lees.

In 2013 heb ik 42 boeken gelezen, uit verschillende genres zoals jullie kunnen zien. Onder de plaatjes schrijf ik (zoveel mogelijk) de Nederlandse titels en schrijvers, voor als iemand dat boek wil lezen.

Ook heb ik nog een paar speldenkussens gemaakt en afgegeven maar helaas daarvan geen foto's gemaakt.

That are 49 things I finished in 2013. I also made some quilt blocks for different quilts and I have some cross stitch projects that I started but still have to finish this year. I also made a few pincushions that I gave away and I forgot to make pictures of them.
